Hey all, I am new to forums and would love some advice on my newly bought 2002 Lancer VRX,
I am wanting to change the front bumper and grill as the twin nostril grill is.......not that appealing.
I am currently running 15" wheels and wondering what size would be too big, and offset and tyre width etc.
I'm located in Melbourne and any help would be appreciated!
(its my first car so go easy on me!)

cheers!

Hi, welcome to the Forum!
If you have a 2002 lancer, then you would have a CG lancer, that grille is not really well known as the twin nostril front, the one most known as the “twin nostril grille” is the later CH Lancer 04 to 08 front end is what is known more as the nostril grille.
Plenty of body kits available for cg/ch lancer front ends, both share the same Mitsubishi CS6A floor plan, as far as wheels go, a lot depends on your ride height (vrx”s are 25mm lower the standard model, plus any additional sagging over time.
A safe bet would be a 17 inch mag, with an offset somewhere around P36 to P41, run a 215/40x17 inch or a 205/40x17 on the front if your suspension a bit saggy over standard Vrx, less guard rubbing on full lock turns.

If you have the CG front, there is a lot of performance bits available for it.

Have a read on this forum on the suspension and wheel topics.

Thank you so much for the reply!
It's good to get some advice from someone who knows wayyy more than I do!
any good websites or places to get reputable parts?

cheers again!

Hello and welcome! Wagonmaster is a pretty knowledgeable bloke, his advice is good.

I would recommend 16” or 15” wheels with a width of 6-7”. That way you can fit 205-225 wide tyres. I have 17” wheels, and even with soft tyres and a good suspension setup you still get lots of harshness and road noise.

as for the grills, upload some pictures so we can see what you’ve got. It’ll make life easier

Ahh I see, I have tried to upload photos a few times but each time I get the same thing :(
this forum isnt happy with me trying to upload a photo from my pc, says "uploaded file is too large for the server to process"
something along those lines :/

but thank you very much for the advice!

(unsure if the link will work but thats the best I can do for a photo of the car (looks very similar to mine!)
