Wheels and other mods?

Hello there, new member here.
My name is Jared, from NSW. I've got an '06 CH ES, 2.4L

My question is regarding wheel fitment, specifically steelies (grizzly style).
I've currently got some AusCar rims that came with the car. were silver but i painted them black. they're doing the job but im getting low king springs (30mm drop) and i'm interested in some new wheels under $500. Any suggestions and has anyone tried it. pics?

Also, im wanting to do exhaust, nothing extreme probably just cat-back or even just rear muffler. suggestions here as well?

future mods include the king springs i mentioned, projector headlights and fog lights. possibly light-weight flywheel and heavy duty clutch. not wanting to do too much on something that isn't an evo.

with wheels you have to decide what direction you want to go. Tuck, flush, meaty, stance, etc. Then you find wheels in a size and style you like from there.

For exhaust a catback is ideal, frees up the gas flow and gives you a tiny bit more responsiveness/power. 2.5" press bent mild steel will do. Can get mandrel bent if you want to spend the extra coin. Muffler depends on what sound you want. Cannon for deep loud farts, single tip for a lighter note, twin tip for sportier sound.

Jeffaz had a mint red CH lowered on its ass, check his ride thread in the CH section. MazioBarditore has a black CH as well with projectors etc.
 
basically want a wheel set up that you'd never see, but not too stupid. and not too wide cause i'm not going widebody and i've never seen flares available.
grizzly steelies look amazing, but i think even 16x8 and 0 offset would poke out too far.

as for exhaust, any brands that do cat-backs? or custom at an exhaust shop the way to go?

Jeffaz ch is pretty damn sweet, sets a pretty high benchmark!

16x8+0 will get you brutally raped by the po-po. I ran 16x8+15 with 195/45 tyres stretched on, looked baller, had mm of guard clearance and with 3* of camber it sat pretty nice. If you want to go stanced but dont want to try run camber or worry about cops, id suggest x8+25, will fit easy with rolled guards.

cheers, only going to be running lows so hopefully wont even need to roll guards. now to find wheels i like haha.

once i've lowered it i wanna put up a little build thread. i've only done aesthetic mods so far, so something performance will be nice :)
 
I'm not sure what fitment you're going for. As stance/meaty/flush fitment will require more than just lows. Also you wont tuck wheel with lows :oops:

16x8+15 got me raped 4 times all up. +0 would have you bound, gagged and made into the po-po's *woo-hoo* slave.

hahaha joisus,

only going lows cause of the roads around where i live. i need it to be practical, but better than stock. don't want tuck, just a little (legal) poke.
the last thing i wanna be is a po-po's *woo-hoo* slave!
 
i dont think poke at all is legal. You're going to have to reevauluate the want for you anus to stay a virgin. Risk it till you cop it I say!
 
yeah i'm thinking i'll just risk it. cops here are very lenient on what they'll get you for. got pulled over for speeding, ran a stop sign and went over lines and didn't even get a warning. no one i know has been defected for stuff like that either. 4wd's get hammered by them though.

just want something that looks better than what i've got :)
 
Yeah, you'll be right. Worst comes worst you flare your guards a bit when you roll them
 
Ill try find a photo of the "poke" i got raped for with 16x8+15 with rolled and as much flare as you can get from a ch!

Just dont drive like a drop kick, i drove around with mass poke and a big shiny intercooler poking through my front bar for like 2 years and never got done
 
I got defected while i was pulled over so my missus could get in the car. End of the day it depends on the cop and their mood.

yo can i just say that with my 16x8 +20s plus max low i could get my coilovers down too
i drove on the *poo*test roads imaginable and never once got hastled by the po po :p
