Wheel and Tyre Question/Information Thread

Considering changing tyres but problem is existing tyres Original on new car, Yokohama 205 60 16 Advan A-460 92H rrp $200+ have only covered just under 2,900km (Supposed to be good for 80,000km) all on made roads, with no scuffmarks etc in fact look like new, so will need to be able to recover some of the cost from these. Great tyres but noisy and I like a quiet car. Any suggestions ie: trade in, offer to trailer builders or if interest in purchasing offers considered.

Considering purchasing Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus or Michelin Primacy LC for quiet running and good all round performance.

Put them on gumtree for less than half price. Like $50/tyre if that. Maybe $100 for the set

Hey guys, just curious as to whether anyone can identify these wheels. Struggling to find the brand. They are 17".

They are an old rim (early 00's) so they won't be sold anywhere new. You'd have to search high and low. Closet thing they have now is a Katana CR5 or maybe some type of similar Advanti wheel.

Finally checked speedo accuracy with 215 60 16 tyres (originals were 205 60 16) so expected readout to be lower.
Surprise surprise, using GPS for comparison speedo 60kph GPS 59kph, speedo 100kph GPS 98kph. Realize these
readings are probably out by 0.1 to 0.2kph but the big thing is I was expecting the difference to be the opposite way around
so really pleased. Unfortunately didn't check speedo with old tyres , so can presume speedo must have been reading
lower to start with and now closer to correct.
HA HA! Wonder if that saved me any inadvertent speeding fines!!

G'day guys, I was just wondering if these new wheels would fit my 96 CE Lancer. They are 18x7 with a 225/45R18 tyre. I am unsure on the offset but they look to be between +40 and +30.
I currently am running 185/60R14 wrapped around 14s (don't know the width or offset but I'd say they about 6"-6.5" and also between that +40 - +30 offset.
Also would like to mention that my car is on Jamex Superlow springs with standard struts.
I do not mind having to roll the guards, I would preferably like the tyre to be flush with the guard or have a tiny bit of poke, or tucking the tyre. If these do not fit then do you have any recommended rim and tyre sizes, as above I would like the tyre to be flush or have a small amount of poke, I'd like to maintain the ride height I currently have and mainly just make sure the car does not look ridiculous and di*ky hahah, thanks in advance.

Tyres are too big. Rims themselves will fit. You need like... 205/30/18 tyres or close to.

The sidewall of the tyre is too high so they would both scrub and throw your speedo out by a lotttttttttttttt

You need to keep the rolling diameter within 4 % so look on the interwebs for a tyre calculator and find the correct tyre for wheels.

Yeah I know that, I just wanted to know a good sized rim that will fill the guards and then a tyre that will keep a similar rolling diameter to my current 185/60R14's

205/40/17 on a 17x7, 205/45/16 on a 16x7, 195/45/16 on a 16x6, 195/50/15 on a 15x6

Just found some nice SA15's that are 17x7 with a 205/40R17 tyre. One problem though, I am almost certain they are 4x114.3 as they came off an Evo. Is it possible to drill the rim so that the PCD is 4x100 and will fit my Lancer?

Totally possible if you can find a wheel shop to do it. Get a quote for it first
