can anyone tell me what this is

it moves up and down and it turns but i have no idea what its for
unless its for removing the gear shifter

any advice would be great
 
It's a gearknob.
If you put it into D the car moves forward, and R will make it move in reverse.

The little thing at the bottom is meant to go up for looks, and it goes down to access the bolts/nuts etc

i was talking about the little thing on the bottom... i had a feeling it was for some purpose but wasnt sure so thx

and yes my car is alittle dirty inside.. could do with a good clean out
 
Well you asked what it is, and there was a pic of a gearknob. I did try to resist, but I could not resist...

bit dumb there mate it was bout the ring thingy he said it moves up and down not forward/ backward surely a gear knob/lever doesntmove up/down lol
 
You are very observant, you must be proud, however maybe you neglected to realize it was intended as a joke. If you use your acute observational skills you'll notice that in the first post it states "can anyone tell me what this is" and directly underneath there is the picture of a gear knob. I assure you that at no time was I under the impression that the thread started did not know what a gear knob is ;)
