What are some common problems with lancers?

Hey there everyone,

Im planning to buy a lancer 2008 CJ ES manual, been a long fan of the CJ look for a long time... :why:

What are some common problems with lancers that i can ask the seller about?
What are things i should look out for when buying a lancer specifically?

can't say ive heard of any major problems with Cj's i would only recommend get whichever car you are planning on buying inspected and most major problems would show up in the report
 
No major issues out there and no different to any other reliable model. Most important thing is to look for a car with a solid service history. Listen out for noisy valves (means it could need valve shims replaced which isn't the simplest of jobs) or a noisy/rattling timing chain (not that I have heard of timing chain stretch issues). Other than that take it for a good drive and over some bumps to see if there are any knocks in the suspension.
