Tyres and wheels

G'day all

I've been trying to find if there's a dedicated thread for wheels and tyres on here.

If not, is there any chance of one being stickied so noobs like me can come along and figure out stuff like how wide a wheel/tyre I can go without scraping guards, offsets, what dimensions people are using, what brand and type of tyre people have fitted and how they rate in various circumstances.

At the moment I'm just trying to go through the members section indvidually which is pain stakingly slow (especially if they have a large amount of posts) and doesn't help when it seems most people are running with 17inches+ and I'm only planning on upgrading from stockies to either 15 or 16 inch.

If there is already a thread just let me know I'm a muppet and I'll shut up. ;)

Cheers

Daniel

I'm running 18x7.5 215/35 on my ce, only scrubs with full lock on lows. Not sure if it'll help you.

So I've changed my mind (go figure) and have decided to go with 17x7's. Still have to decide on a design.

I'd really like to know peoples thoughts on tyres though. I like tyres that lose little to no performance in the wet and so far (from experience on my current car) the best tyre's I've come across in the wet are the Falken FK452's.

Does anyone have any other alternatives? I've tried Toyo Proxes 4's after being told they were 'as good in the wet if not better' than the Falkens, but I don't agree with that, they are slightly better in the dry though.

Cheers

Daniel.

Yokohma A drive R1. Check them out. Good tyre at a good price. Toyo Proxies are mean as well.

I found Kumho KU31s to be pretty good for the price. Best tyres I have had though were Bridgestone Adrenalins but they are pretty pricey and whilst still have alright wet grip, they excel in the dry....
