We can reflash some CE lancers, the CG 2.0 can definitly be flashed and we are working on the CG / CH 4G69 models right now.

not sure about the 4G15 models, but the CE is around a 50% chance. i actually need to play around with them some more to finalise the in procedure.

Reflashing is a great way to tune for medium to high level of modifications, cheap to tune as well

Can you reflash the CH 2L?

i believe the CG and CH 4G94 are the same engine/ecu could be wrong tho. but iv read only certain series numbers can be flashed.. thats what its like on the 4G69 anyways.

Yeah they are the same engine, that's why I asked, cause it could be a different ECU... I'd probs get a reflash once I put a CAI, catback and xractors on.

Not sure how accurate this is, But talking to my mechanic he says the reason why not many people tune CE ecu's is because the O2 sensor does the majority of the tuning anyway. If people have done mods such as CAI, extractors and TB and think they are running lean.. or rich, the O2 sensor should correct the ratios automaticly, If not you need a new 02 sensor, that was my advice.. cant say if its 100 % true

I have some friends that are tuning CE ECU's via reflash but there are only certain years on the ecu's that they are able to do they are also able to remove the immobiliser as well this is only available on a 4G93 not the 4G15... they are also able to convert a 4G93 ecu to run a 4G69... ;)

more then lilkely, its a post 1998 thing as mitsubishi changed their processors in the ecu, rule of thumb: plastic case ecu = flashable, metal case = non flashable...but there are exceptions and oddities

they'll hav to get a def file and then pull apart the coding. its the processor is 'unlockable' then its 'editable'

If you are keen I can put you in touch with the guy that does it and you can have a chatt with him.. he works with 1998 - 2000 as for $$ he is pretty reasonable ;)

Hey chowetime,
since this is on the topic of tuning, do you recommend any one in perth for tuning and helping me with my turbo build on my 4G94?

Can respond in PM if ya like

so i got a 4g15. want to try tuning it. was told to use ecuflash. i know i have a metal case ecu

1. can i tune this ecu?
2. if not can i change the ecu to a plastic case one? and is it a straight swap?
3. is there any perticular CE that has the plastic ecu?

thz for the help

I've done some ecuflash tuning on a CE 4g93 sohc. With more time tuning you can better the stock ecu since i know for a fact the standard ecu becomes very rich above 5500rpm. Ignition timing is very relaxed on a stock ecu for use on 91 octane and ive seen this first hand.
You can also use the evo5-6 ecus. In all cases rescaling the maf sensor if using the 4g93 maf, injectors and entire fuel and ignition map will be required.
