TRS projector retrofit questions

Herro, I'm currently undergoing a projector retrofit for my CE '01 and the first issue I've encountered is the mini gatling gun shroud appears to be much too big for the reflector housing. The part where the thread comes through the light hole doesn't sit flush with the silicone washer at the bottom. It only touches at the top. Is this an issue or could the problem be fixed when I get to aiming? When I'll get to the lock ring, I'm pretty sure it will not be flush with the metal adapter plate.

How do I test the solenoid plunger without disconnecting and removing my car battery? How do I test the CCFL angel eye rings again without having to use the power supply?

Ive you havent assembled anything, you can just take the projector to your car battery and connect the 2 thin wires, you should hear the solenoid click.

Same again with the angel eyes, just put them straight on the battery before you install them to test.

If the shroud is too big you just have trim it with a dremel or file or something. I had to hack at mine, Joshy didnt have to do his, he just wedged it in.

Try inserting the projector with out the shroud attached, it should fit fine. Then try to insert the shroud over the projector (without screwing it in) then see where it hits, and trim it.

You should take some photos, because its hard to picture what your describing.

do u have a coupe? because mine fit? it touches the back peice, but it still fits. check my thread for photos

Yeah coupe dude, where do I attach the harness to the battery when i have wierd clips on the battery terminals and where do the outputs from the ballast go? to the wires from the harness? plus how do you aim the light=\ just done one headlight and after dinner the second one shall commence

??? None of that made sense to me.

What harness are you talking about?
What ballasts are you using?
What weird clips are you talking about?

The battery should just have 2 battery posts, and then you will have the 2 main thick gauge wires going to the alternator/starter??/

Aiming the light is done by using the stock aiming screws on the headlight, thats the beauty of the MH1, because it attaches to the reflector bowl, it moves when you adjust the bowl (which is how the stock one works)

1) Harness Input: Plugs into the output socket which used to plug into your halogen bulb on the side closest to the car
battery. Varies for 9007, H4, and H13 applications.
2) Battery (+): Coming from the fuse box with the red wire, goes to the positive battery terminal or any 12v output
3) Ground (-): Coming from the black line, you can connect this to the battery or any chassis ground
4) Ballast Outputs: Comes from the orange/black color coded wires. Longer side plugs into ballast opposite battery
5) Solenoid Outputs: Comes from the blue/black color coded wires. Longer side plugs into solenoid opposite battery

The ballast and solenoid outputs aren't colour coded with the ballasts/solenoids?

Where do I fit the ballasts and the bloody relay?

Where does the ground wire go in the area I'm working?

Ok, what you said is all correct.

On your projectors, you will have 2 really thin small wires coming out, they are the solenoid wires. you will also get a plug that is the female plug for #5.
You will have to push the rubber seal on first, then plush the wires up into the plug, then push the rubber seal into the back of the plug, a bit like heatshrink, you put it on first.

Just make sure that you put the wires in the fitting so that black is black.

The ballasts will plug straight into the #4. You can put them wherever you want, i have mine ziptied to stuff in the engine bay. relay, again put it where ever you want.

The ground wire can just goto ground, if its long enough, put it on the battery.
