Subwoofer Wiring

Have a sub to install, just haven't got round to it yet. Just wondering what the easiest way to run wire from the head unit to the boot would be.
Preferably under the carpet :)

take off the kick panels, door sills, B pillar lower trim, and possibly C pillar lower trim, on both sides,

Run the RCA's down the right hand side.
Run the power cables down the left hand side.

What Tron said. Note to make sure you don't run any power cable along the same side as RCA cables or speaker wires. Will cause interference and sound *poo*e.

My power cable and RCA's are on the same side, i didnt install it and was going to change it when i got the car but then i saw somewhere that it doesnt matter with subs because its only the low frequency's or some S***. Dont know if its true or not, but mine sounds decent, probably will never change it.

Yep just take off the kick panel things, take out the rear seat and it will be straight forward and well hidden.

Yeah thats what mine is like, zip tied together up one side of the car, no interference at all. Did just find out though that it can depend on the quality of your RCA's. Some cheap RCA's have really bad shielding (if any) that can allow interference and other good quality cables stop the interference. But if your installing a new system i wouldn't risk it and just put the power cable up the opposite side of the car, usually on the side the battery is on to minimize the cable length

yeah funny store about my 4 gauge... we CUT it haha wat a fat *mum* it was, had to run it through a spliter so link the 2 amps

some rca cables have heavy duty insulation against EMF produced by the power gauged cable, and therefore arent affected.
but for the rest of us who used normal single insulated RCA's! we have to seperate them otherwise we get interference :)
stick to what trolldabron said, easiest and quickest but most effective method.

Unless they have a separate grounded shield on them I wouldn't be running any electrical signalling cables with the power cables. Doing so is cabling fail 101 be it in a car, house or industrial application...

Run the power cable down the passenger side and the RCAs through the center console and under the back seats. The rear loom runs down the drivers side, if you put the RCAs along their it could undo all your hard work to separate them from power cables. if the signal cables need to go near the power cables it should be for the shortest distance possible. One last thing remember to use FUSES!

after reading this i seriously hope there is an amp along those wires between the HU and the sub. Tho i would love to see how you go running a sub of a HU
