Stock speakers

Anyone had any problems with their stock speakers? Mine is making this god awful buzzing, especially when the song has a heavier bass line.
Any ideas? time for new speakers? It is the front right (drivers side)

Cheers

Are they secured properly? Could be just that they are shaking/rattling because of that. Could try shoving socks in behind the speakers to cushion them, worked for me. If that's not the problem, I'd recommend new speakers.

Check if they just need securing first. And I'd get rears before front speakers, they have more kick in em ;)

Lol socks?? That's a new one. From your description that just sounds like distortion. Stock speakers are not great, and you are probably trying to run them past their limit. Have you turned the bass up on the head unit? That would fast track it. Also being 10-16 years old it's likely they're just dead over the years. The stock speakers are never great quality and are designed cheap and made cheap. Replace them, and if the replacements don't have enough bass for your liking (which is highly likely), get a sub and amp, as that's the only way you'll get true bass.

Check JB HI-FI aswell (if there's a store near you, but they also deliver from online orders) they usually have the cheapest price of retail stores.

Speaker prices are 99% of the time for a PAIR. I have never seen a single speaker sold in a shop that wasn't custom ordered and wasn't a subwoofer or singular tweeter

Walk into my local SuperCheap :S The ones from JB come in pairs

Jb is the go just get some new ones from there i was there today for a new head unit and they've got heaps of stuff in there for all price ranges and if ya paying cash they'll always give you a discount if you ask.
Take one of your front speakers with you to make sure you don't get a replacement that's too deep or wide if you get a direct fit it'll make life alot easier for ya.

may sound like a broken record but do got to JB, best range and prices

Best range for a chain, but alot of dedicated car audio stores will have a bigger range of brands generally. Also be hesitant of JB HiFi installers, the idiots upped the gains fully on the amp they put in for my brother and he rooted the sub

But if you are on a budget then yes JB HiFi would be a good spot to go, just remember haggle and don't pay the stickered price.

A cheap set like that will still be heaps better than stock.
