HEY! so i booked my car into an exhaust place for saturday morning :D i got a quote on how much for an exhaust cannon to get installed, like 180$...
and its 280$ to get a whole sports exhaust system installed, so naturally, im going the extra 100$ and getting the whole sports exhaust system :D

very excitted :) is 280$ good for something like that?

Not a bad price I think... what size 2", 2.5" ??? Is that with a tip or a cannon or nothing???

i paid a $900 from memory for a full extractors back performance exhaust with magnaflow cat, racing 4-2-1 extractors ( produce more low - mid range torque than 4-1 extractors) , and a stainless steel muffler all finished in 2 1/4" pipes i think was the size - quite a bit of work to fit the muffler in with where i wanted the tail pipes to go so had to put a few more complicated bends n stuff into the piping - but turned out great :)

my exhaust so far has cost me $850 for a full 2" custom exhaust with minimal bends but a major one to clear the rear strutbrace & i have 4-2-1 extractors like drakos the only thing left to do to my exhaust is the cat converter & it's going to be a race spec one :D

i got a set of headers for $400 and $510 for the cattback with flanged hotdog muffler so i can have a straight pipe so i can swap probly didnt need it but ahwell im looking at xforce header atm dont realy like the ones i got

i was quoted around 1400 for a full system

yeh the highest i got quoted when i did the rounds of places in Adelaide was around 1500 :S but im not really sure what extra price was for - not sure if they mandrel bent the pipes or what ....ive got almost no complaints with my 900$ full exhaust system - prolly was a waste of money as far as performance goes - but i wanted it!

i been looking for them, where abouts on goldie are they, i've heard some happy stories from there work

i paid something like $1300 for mine...

4-1 headers
2.25" piping *payed for mandrel bends*
lukey muffler
mangaflow cat.
7" oval tip.

it all addds up quick.

and that was only in mild steel.

i love them. there is no down side i can feel.

i have a little speed test near my house, pulling out onto a main road, stock standard, i was hitting 80km/h right at the speed sign.

now im hitting it at least 50m earlier, if not more.

fair enough, i think i just heard there was too much back pressure, or aybe not enough. i don't know

if ur doing launches and keeping the revvs high up then the 4-1 extractors prolly provide free'r flowing , but around town and stop start driving i believe the 4-2-1 extractors keep the back pressure a bit more n that stops the engine having to work harder to push the gases out the exhaust :S not sure if thats true - but i read a couple forums that said that kinda thing about extractors...

4-1 headers are more about mid range to higher end power.

were as your 4-2-1, or tri-y's keep that real strong midrange, and a bit more low range torque to.

but the reason why i choose the 4-1's, is that, if im plodding around town, peak hour traffic etc. why do i need extra power??

but if i wanted to launch quick and stuff with the 421's, i wouldn't have as much power as i would with 4-1's....

does that make sense? or have i misunderstood the concept :/
