Retrimming my lancer cause im cheap:)

So, i had a few grand to spend on my lancer, but unfortunately, it idles like a sack of sh1t so it needs a dynotune cause the aftermarket chip is screwing my settings after removing turbo, which probs wont be cheap.

I planned to use the money for full re-upholstery but ive gone cheap in order to fix the mech first, so i went to spotlight, bought 3m of blue suede, and a can of spray adhesive, and got to work.

Might i say im very happy with the results, looks professinal (well to me anyways) and im a lil proud of myself. but this was the easy part, next is center door cards.

Im thinking full black interior - black leather seats with blue stitching, black dash and handbrake, black carpet, black doors, and just have the blue on select items, i need to find spraypaint to match the suede colour which will probs be the difficult bit along with the doors.

If anyone needs help, i can give little extra detail, but im a noob and im proud of my results so dont be afraid to try it. I've also sprayed my speaker covers black with 3m vinly and plastic paint, looks really good with the light blue imo. sorry dont have pics of it all in yet, but will tomorrow!

looks tops so far. i would forget re lining the roof as it is a bigger job than many think, you can by a fabric die / paint that brings this lining up as new.

lies :p
i did mine with no previous experience / knowledge
i just thought 'hey what the hell' and if i needed a new roof lining its as simple as going to the wreckers and getting a new one :p
i didnt run into any problems and it was a good learning experience :D

x2, roof shouldnt be any harder than other pieces it would just take more time and planning

Ok so, installed the parcel shelf, and spray painted speakers and tail light black. looks great imo.

halfway through everything pulled out:

then i painted all the panels in the rear with vinyl spray but i think i did something wrong, it seems to scratch very easily, even with a rough fingernail, but the guy at supercheap said i wouldnt need any primer with the 3m vinyl paint (and believe me I asked him twice to make sure cause i thought it was a bit fishy) but it really does come off easily, i let it dry and all between coats and properly removed all surface crap with 3m grease and wax remover. Is there something i can spray over the top that can protect the paint? like a clear coat or something?

then after installing all that, redid door trim - just one cause it was freaking difficult with a flat piece of non stretch suede. but it looks alright, and gives me an idea of what it looks like before i spend the big bickies on a custom job.

Look in the bottom right corner of pic and you can see overlap which creates a bump, but still im fine with that for now

also forgot to mention, the guy who bought my turbo fixed all my car problems. He also works at Queen St Customs, and said he will gladly be happy to work on my car super cheap for me:) (He is a spray painter, audio installer, re-upholsterer and mechanic...)

he fixed vacuum issue with throttle body, swapped out my larger injectors for standard ones, removed my aftermarket ECU and replaced with a stock one and reattached my body kit to the car.

AND He still paid me over 500 for the turbo:) so that means i can look at doing the full interior now :) leather seats, retrimmed dash and doors.

trim looks good man, and as for the paint, you most definatley should have used a primer. remember, super cheap workers have absoloutly no qualifications to work there. they arnt panel beaters.
talk to your new found mate for help on that :D haha.

faaarkkk sake, i asked him twice and he was like, naar man, trust me...

what a head.

alright so does that mean i have to sand back the paint? prime then repaint?
