Removeing dash trim etc for N3wb5

Helloooo,

So as I am noob to Mitsubishi I thought I should consult the experts before I break anything else.

When I first bought my CE Wagon (CC Shapes and parts) my cuz said only thing about it was the air con vent on the passenger side, the little wheel that you use to open/close the vent had been pushed in behind the dash, I didnt really care as I (the driver) still get air con on my side, and I thought it would be an easy fix.

We I drove it for the first time, I went to turn off the centre passenger side air vent and somehow it was pushed into the dash ( no I didnt not punch it or anything). This didnt really phase me as it only closed off the passenger air vent again, but annoyed me on a "theres a hole in my dash) level.

In my attempt to pull the centre trim (radio/climate etc) out to inspect the wheel id broken I found it got stuck on something near the top right of the trim. Deciding not to pursue this task late I night, I refitted the trim and found that I had closed the drivers side centre vent (LOL) and that turning the wheel did not open it again.

So.. the bedrock of my story is,

How do I remove the passenger door side air con vent? Screw? or just lever with screwdriver??

How do I remove the centre trim safely to fix my other vents, and what could it be catching on??

not being rude mate but have you ever thought of getting a service manual? gregoreys/haynes from supercheap/repco there only about $50 & it basically tells you how to pull a car apart & put it back together again lol best $50 you will ever spend

lol manuals.... who uses manuals

okay yeh i guess its a good idea to gte it

generally side air vents pull out straight if u can grip them with pliers or something not as harsh, but its easy to break them so eb carful

Passenger side air vent a cc is screwed in from the back u need to remove the dash panel to do this. if and when u cruse up to get ur brakes done ill have a look at it for ya...

Haha yer, i thought about buying a manual, except super cheap and autobarn are both closed when I finish work. Ill try autobarn tomz on my lunch break, theres one near work.

Ok now worries, LWNSLW, its looking like about a week or two away. Then ill cruise up.

Any hints for removing the radio easy? Im keen on installing another one.

Whenever I bought another vehicle, I also scoured to find a Haynes/Gregory's Manual... I have rebuilt dozens of cars using my manuals... They all are extensively dog-eared with greasy fingerprints!

It's very sound, good advice.

(late models you can generally find online manuals, which is nice.)

Told me enough to totally rebuild every vehicle I've owned... can't think of what they don't tell you, that you can't work out for yourself!
