Projector/Halo Lights

Hey Guys,

I've been searching for a set of lights with projectors so I can throw in my HID's.
I've noticed a few people here have them, I'd love a pair too as I do a lot of night driving.

I found this local site, they still carry them.

http://xracing.com.au/body-styling/mits ... headlight/

They have a notation on the page saying the following:

Please note: must be used with original factory bulbs, using HID will damage the circuit which will NOT be replaceable

I've noticed none of the eBay sellers have this warning
Has anyone had any experience where HID's have done circuit damage ???

If you want to run HID's I think you'd have to get the ballasts first aswell as the wiring harness. The ballasts depend on what brand of HID you buy I believe, and the wire harness is a H4/9003 conversion.

Sorry if I'm wrong but just trying to help, and going off knowledge from The Retrofit Source's product purchase page >.<

I've got a 6000K set from my old AU Fairmont, they were H4 fitment.

I've got ballasts, wiring the whole lot, they just plug in to the standard H4 plug in the back and slot into the headlight like a normal H4 globe.
I never once had an issue with them... Just nicer night driving, unlike a lot of cars, they seem to suit the AU headlight perfectly without a projector. :D

They only say that warning on there because the picture you have there is of joshyewahh's old car. He bought those angel eyes from xracing and when he put HID's in, it did something with the wiring, dunno what exactly. Go have a read of his old ride thread, it's pretty good!
But I think you should be right. Putting HID's in doesn't even touch the wiring of the headlight does it?

And I wouldn't buy from xracing, I don't know if he's around anymore and if he is, he'll charge you nearly 600 bucks for them I think.

Yep, He's still around and the only Aussie seller carring them, They want $380 delivered.

I'll check out joshyewahh's thread

x2 for not buying from xracing, bad rep

ebay sells them for about the $300 mark landed

I got mine from eBay had sticker on it saying hid may cause extreme heat and cause plastic to warp had mine in over 2 years now not a single problem with heat.

I found a guy in Taiwan selling them on eBay, but I cant find him now.

In his listing, He offered them for either RHD or LHD depending on your country, I may just have to wait for him to resurface.

i ran HID's in mine for ages. also ran 130 watt globes before that. they didnt melt. it will not damage wiring. wiring it wrong will damage wiring. if you do alot of night driving i highly recomend against these as the cutoff is garbage with or without HID's and not one set ive ever seen has perfect fitment.

retro fit is a far better option at the cost of some DIY skills.

^ i agree. They are cooler lights but the light output is much less than the stock lights, worse for night driving. I dont do a heap of it.
Retro fitting is pretty cool and probably a lot better for night time driving too
