Power windows swap not quite working...

I just recently bought a 2000 CE GLi coupe (poverty pack edition)for my daughter it was a little rough and as we worked our way thru the car and my shed she picked up some power mirrors and said will these fit yes with the right wire loom so it was a trip off to the wreckers and there I spotted a MR so we have raped the MR of all the parts for the power mirror and window swap and central locking plus a new heater box as it was leaking and seeing as I have to remove dash I figured may as well get the black dash...

So pulled the car apart and started to install the new wire loom and make the connections - I have only been able to do one window due to the other window mech needs to be fixed the cable was cut by previous owner... I have not been able to replace the actual glass due to the screws brackets are so high up and I can't position glass into door so with everything all connected up I tried to see if the window would go down that was a no did not work... checked that I have fuses in engine area - Yes... all plugs are connected - Yes I connected the mirrors and they work so I have power going thru the loom what am I missing...

Relay. I had the same problem, $30 bucks from mitsubishi, or see if the one of your LS wreck will fit.

I have both sides wired in... the drivers side is completely installed but the passenger side is not completely installed I am still waiting on the mechanisim to be fixed so I can install it.

skippy I am not even really sure were the relay even goes... when I grabbed the gear from the wreckers I also grabbed the BCM and made sure that both had the same fuses in it... I am just wondering if there is a problem with the actual motor... I really do not want to remove mine from the MR just to test it out... do you know were the relay goes?

if you want to elimanate the motor from being the issue, just put power and earth to the plug. its a motor, sochanging polarity will just change direction it travels, so you cant get it round the wrong way. so if you power one termianl up and another earth, the motor should move. if not. dud motor.

sounds odd, cause it needs to be a closed loop for even 1 to work. maybe somthing in the control is broken

Relay is under the dash (for mine it was), where the fuse box is... I'll get you a screencap of my workshop manual when I get home. Cause it was weird with mine, i had the fuse and everything (same with foggies) and had it all wired up, and it just didn't work, cause mitsubishi don't put relays in when the accessory isn't present, but will put all the fuses required in?

Also with the cable on the otherside, my sisters 380 snapped a cable and we were told by numerous people that you'll need to replace the whole piece not just the cable... (not sure how accurate this is, but we were told by mitsubishi as well)

The wreckers I got the parts from are waiting for a replacement part to arrive...I have a Gregories car manual and it does not really show all that much... tomorrow I will take my fuse box out of the MR and see what needs to be added that I have not seen or found... just frustrating atm...

Hope this helps at all.. might give you an idea.

hmm thanks for that my BCM is a little different from that... I do know that there is 2 spaces available for relays to go in there... the one I picked up from the wreckers did not have one in that place... I will have a look on my MR and see if I can spot the differences...

On the back side of the BCM is a blue box thing that has a removeable lid not really sure as to what is behind there bit I am think it is just wire connections etc... I am seriously thinking that it may be a faulty motor...

YAY - HIGH 5'S FOR ME!!!!!

found the missing relay I was looking in the worng place for were the relay goes - it is next to the BCM to the left of it to most (like me) I just saw a white plastic thing hanging from the bar with no visiable wires coming from it... should I show pics of this or not really nessicary ?

Tho it might be handy if someone other newby wants to do the same swap as it is a reasonably easy thing to do just time consuming with wires etc... as a point of interest I used a CH mivec relay to make it work... so this is another easy to find part as it looks like Mitsubishi uses one relay for many cars
