Performance mods?

Hey guys, i was wondering wat performance mods can i get done without getting a turbo put in (due to P's) and that wont have my car off the road for extened periods of time.
I have already:
4/2/1 extractors
2 inch catback system

Any help will be appreciated.

Seriously use google there are that many topics about this already, I mean even a forum search will yield results. What kind of performance? Handling? Power?

4g92s intakes fit??

Series 2 for ce's fit I have one on my car. They don't quite match the ports but I'm solving that problem next week ;-)

throttle body upgrade is another good one thats cheap
pick up a 4g92/4g63 thottle body... maybe a magna one if they fit i dunno, fto TB?

then grind a lip out of ur plenum ur car has and fit it for some nice low end gains

other than that if u want handling and braking performance aswell
brakes = either GSR upgrade ($375-ish from hens and it bolts right on) or go twin potty evo3's for uber braking... (but i would say GSR is enuf for u if ur not going turbo)
handling = definitly a rear sway bar.... then strutbraces, coilovers or spring shock combo, anti lift kit... and any other bracing like fender bars etc if ur keen on them

If you have a 1.5L do a 1.8L conversion. Yes it is legal on your p's.
MR box for the ratios.
High compression pistons.
DOHC.

Do anything really. You could have a NA 11sec car and it appear like it has an intake and exhaust. A police or transport officer will never know that you're running 12:1 (or whatever high compression is for a lancer) pistons.

Adjustable cam gear, retarded 1-2 degrees and a set of colder plugs. Camshaft, intake bored out to fit 1.8 throttle body since you probably have a 1.5 with a 2 inch exhaust. Lightened crank pulley with matching belts, heavy duty clutch with a lightened flywheel.

agreed, going fast is one thing, but you gotta be able to stop!
i just put a CAI on my car, cost like $30 and bout an hour, cheap little mod and i got that warm fuzzy feelin inside for doing it

I agree with that totally, and incidently that is the route I have taken. Taking corners fast is way more exciting than going fast in a straight line.

lol lies, have a sit in matty's car, heaps good acceleration for an NA
and i have a feeling speed merchants when built up will be a good NA judging from the work he did on his previous motor

turbo is good, but different routes to power suit different peoples drving and budget (and fuel usage)

turbos are fun but in front wheel drive format they can be very dangerous. tourqe steering wheel spinning pieces of *poo* with out the right gear box set up. yet this is exactly what im doing lol

no one here races on highways do they? that's just silly.

And I'm getting sick of hearing people flaming anyone ideas of performance mods when they don't want to turbo it. Some people don't have the money the time or be able to have the car of the road, or maybe they don't want to risk the lack reliability of such large mods to a car. Maybe they don't understand exactly what it takes to turbo a car and it worries them. Would be better use of time to give them incite on what there after, Instead of just saying turbo it.
