Paint for interior and exterior?

Hey guys, I've been having a bit of a problem with the windscreen wipers and the gutter running under them when it comes to paint.

I've just been using the rattle cans from super cheap and originally they were really deep black, but now they've started to fade and somewhat become very inconsistent colourwise (blotchy) so I was wondering what I'd be able to rectify that, would I have to sand it back and reapply the paint?

Also, for the interior like the A,B,C pillars and perhaps the dashboard, would the same rattle can work? if not, what paint should i use? would I just have to use wax and grease remover beforehand to make sure it doesn't taint the paint?

For the roof strips (which start peeling and flaking off etc.) would it be possible to sand that rubber/plastic off, leaving the exposed metal to either be painted or left as is?

cheers guys :)

To make it stay good for ever you need 2 pak. I have my interior for sale, which is intirerly in 2pak. Would be easy to just repaint to what ever colour you want. Check my ride thread. Could help you instal or paint if needed.

I've been using vinyl dye in a can for interior stuff, and just some decent black rattle can paint with a clear coat for the outside.

brake caliper matte black paint is pretty resistant to most things and better then $2 stuff.

What about the plastic A, B and C pillars? Should the Australian Export black matte/gloss paint work? would matte be better?

trim them with fabric, also australian export paints are sooo very crap

funny you should say to retrim them, i would, but i'm probably limited to a budget of about $20 and don't know what fabric I'd like/what type I'd need =\ (or if i could get it for like $20)

fabric is cheap, $20 for a piece larger than the size of your roof, then u just need some adhesive, and scissors

i retrimmed my entire interior (all pillars, roof trim and door cards) for $35-$40 ;)
i just chose a fabric that i liked and bought oodles :p (i even re trimmed my keyboard :p )

for interior i suppose whatever fabric you like would suit because they are relatively easy panels to trim

alrighty then too easy... guess I'd better head off to the arts and crafts store... and i want to put some more lights in the roof, like 2 led downlights in the back or something... how much would they cost and is there any difficulty in wiring them up? *and where could i find them*

ok, well there is a DIY interior thread up which has good info and good feedback

as for downlights, check out Citta's ride thread cause he put some in his (which looked pretty schmick)
wiring them up should be a sinch too, just brake out a multi meter and go nuts

i put puddle lights in my car and just spliced into the dome light wires that run up the drivers pillar
