Hey guys this is the car my gf has.

Has a 1.8 manual transmission engine in it.

Engine is royally fkd and needs to go asap.

I was thinking of putting an sr20de or sr20ve half cut in it rather than just a recondition motor same was whats in there now.

Does anybody have any idea what the costs would be roughly for such a conversion? Particularly to convert it to auto aswell?

Im not sure where I would get one of these half cuts from, i know they are a SSS engine or the s15 autotech engine but i cant find much on the pricing and cost of conversion.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

im not sure if this conversion is even possible but i really hope it is.

I think the SSS has a sr20de in it. If you wanted auto you'd have to get an auto box for it. I'm pretty sure the conversion is possible, mate was gonna do one but backed out cause of $$$, so i'm assuming it'd be a bit.

yeah well prepared for the cost need to do this in the next couple of months really before the engine goes and its not drivable

well if you get a half cut, it should just be replacing all the required parts (including ecu since it is a different engine)

wouldnt even bother. benfits v cost...cost outweighs it.

S15 autech wont fit (easily)

GTir conversion is illegal as its an old motor in a new car. headswap isnt though

same goes for SR20VE as its an older motor in a new car. to do it youd hav to dodge it, or grab a late model FWD spec SR20 and put the sr20ve head on

its your missus car remember. dont waste the money. good idea in theory though. save the money for your CC or some hookers

cost would be around 7k min im guessing.

best join up to http://www.pulsar.org.au/

how putting older motors in illegal, first i have heard of it. what about putting the g63 from an evo 3 in one our CE's

i have an 96 CM5a in my 2000 CE... But I do know of the rule about older motors in newer cars.

All you need to do is get it mod plated.

Anyway, I would hit up www.nissansilva.com as this site is biggest than boost cruising and they will give you right direction!

I would just rebuild it mate. cheapest option!

conversions = $$$$

I think fundamentally, you cannot put carburettors on an EFI motor, or take off any recirc gear...

putting a carburettor on an EFI would be trying to make a hybrid. not swapping out completly

what?! Hybrid means combustion and electric... not creating Frankenstein with old parts on a newer motor...

hybrid means creating one thing out of two other things. it doesn't have to be an engine either. hybrid engine are call as such because, yes you are combining combustion with eletric

That won't easily it anyway :/

And nissansilvia won't help either. Remember Silvias are rwd? Pulsars are front. They share a few internals but that's about it
