Need help installing coilovers

Hey guys. My new coils came in and I would like some reassurance that I'm doing it correctly. If some one can post a play by play of how to uninstall old suspension in detail and how to install new coils with the original top hats. I know I'll need spring compressors and socket set. Is there any thing I'm missing also with this information I'll take photos and make some detailed DIY for the site. Thanks for all your help!

its easy, jack car, pop bonnet, take of rim(s) undo top and bottom bolts that hold on the strut to the chassis and steering arm

compress spring, undo tophat, keep the bearing and tophat, wind down coils to make lax, so there is no pressure, put on oe bearing then tophat, then tighten
re-tension coil spring

move to next.

ces just did a diy for doing springs/shocks, its exactly same thing except u swap bearings and hats

Brilliant thank you guys. I was a little worried I would **** it up :(
you think you were worried, i did mine the other day, and it was the first time id ever attempted something of that nature and magnitude!
im just glad everything went well for me (mostly :p )

and if I of all people can manage this, then you shouldnt have any troubles!

did u end up with the GAB's denemay?
i just bought some stuff off them, no troubles getting it sent to aus

let us know how they go, take plenty of pics, i would like a good look at them, the quality, how they are constructed, parts... etc.

Yeah I will do a cesario type DIY. I did get the GAB the trouble I had with the seller was I couldn't understand him and rachael was trying to do it for me as it was a Christmas present so it got all complicated because a woman :p they match up pretty well so far. Their made for a 4g93 so it's exsact. I'll get onto it first thing tomorow and upload the pics and crap tomorow night.

just remember,
take lots of pics, cause there is no such thing as too many pics for a DIY, even if the camera pan is 2 degrees!

hope it goes well for ya, and remember, triple check everything before you take it for a spin, because nothing worse than driving down the road and a strut comes lose and your car grinds to a halt!
but no pressure...

you mean they are to fit a proton waja ;)
and seeing as they have no topmounts that come with them they will technically fit;
lancer CE + CC and mirages + the proton side of things

engine code means nothing when it comes to suspension

Update:

No DIY sorry guys. The task was too daunting for me. The coils fit fine with some minor issues nothing major though. Will up date with some photos.

Just curious If you want more lows car you remove one of the locking rings? Seeing as there's the spring perch and 2 locking rings would removing the bottom one be alright.

Are you really going to risk your safety for the sake of the 3-4mm that a locking ring takes up?

why would you need to take it off?coils go low enough anyway. dont risk safety

Stupid question is immensly stupid
locking rings are there for a reason and u need two to bind and lock
plus most coils go low enough normally that u shouldnt need any lower

thats why I'm curious because iv just fitted a set of ksport's, the fronts are low and the wheels tuck about half an inch and i could still go lower but the rears are set as low as the lower mount will go.. The spring isn't preloaded to much.

thats how the rear sits

same as my lancer^^ i took the lower lock ring off but it wasnt worth the hole in the wall that the tophat left when i undid the main nut on the top.....there under some serious pressure lol, but ksport in my magna went pretty low about 3-40mm off the road from chassis rail on 17's(still wanted too go lower but)

Maybe I can preload the spring some more and wind the lower mount up some more but that will ruin the ride won't it..
