MY14 Ralliart modifications and warranty

Hi all, I know this is probably an already widely discusses topic but I was wondering if anyone has had any issues with their new car warranty after modifying their Ralliart.

Even though my car is barely off the show room floor, I'm already looking at doing some basic mods to help with the laggy bottom end. I was looking into a turbo pipe back exhaust, 3 port boost control solenoid, upgraded fuel pump and a tune to suit. (On a side note, I know MRT only do an exhaust and tune but another tune shop told me the BCS and fuel pump need to be upgraded to suit. Anyone have any thoughts?)

Back onto my main topic, has anyone had any warranty claims or issues with a similar level of modification. The 5 year factory warranty was one of the selling points with the missus and I'd hate to blow it with some pretty basic mods in the scheme of things.

Thanks in advance and gotta say, the more I drive the RA the better it gets!

Josh.

with regards to warranty, I can only really say what I've heard as opposed to what I know, but in order to void a warranty claim, one of your modifications have to contribute, or have the capacity to contribute in some way to the failure.

Unfortunately what that means though is if you have your ecu tuned, you pretty much void yourself from any engine related warranty claim. You could possibly keep two ecu's but I don't have enough knowledge on what the firmware contains to say if they'll be able to pick up on them being swapped out.
personally thats what I'd do though, upgrade my exhaust, maybe intake, flash a spare ecu and call it a day in terms of engine mods.

Yeah, I've been told the same thing. I was after people's actual experiences such as being refused a repair or no issue at all.

I'll prob wait a couple years for the km's to build up and the engine to loosen up a bit.

If you want warranty I wouldn't bother with any mods except maybe a cat back. I worked at a performance shop use to deal with alot of newer cars and it would void the warranty but if you changed the exhaust then the suspension failed it should be covered still alot of dealers and workshops try to palm of warranty work as much as they can and also find any excuse not to do the work

I'll answer your thread from previous experience with warranty rape :). Your biggest thing that can go wrong is the SST. Other than that there are a few precautionary steps you will need to take to avoid having a mtisubishi delivered failure which I'll explain tomorrow after sleep :).

Do not go to MRT you will be wasting your money, on the stock turbo the fuel pump and injectors wont max out before your turbo reaches it's limit. Feel free to read my build thread or perhaps my older mod thread(needs some updating as stuff has changed big time).

Your best bet to fix lag, get a boost pill installed with a wideband, purchase a tactrix cable and evoscan and install the GST basemap V3.... You will come close to if not 12's just with that alone and it will be better than what ever MRT will offer you for a stack load more price without changing the turbo.
