hey guys.. i need a help my car is Mitsubishi mirage 1998. my car including immobilizer. i removed immobilizer unit but i cant bypass engine ecu. i need buy new engine ecu. please tell me without immobilizer ecu number (ex. MD351552 / this is my ecu number) Thanks maxresdefault.jpg
 
So we can better understand what’s going on here.

Why did you remove the immobilizer?
And why are you trying to bypass the ecu ?
 
I'm purchase used (recondition) engine. But I did not get the key, key ring and immobilizer unit. And I'm hard to find another one. Because of that i think change engine ecu. :disappointed:
 
If it’s the same type of engine, just reconditioned then you shouldn’t have to change the immobilizer or ecu.
 
Sir the immobilizer was not received. (only engine and ecu) When there is no connection between the engine and the immobilizer, petrol is not supplied to the engine. only crank will not start.

Did the car previously have the same type of engine and are you just replacing it with a "reconditioned" one?

If so then you don't need to change ecu etc

No. My previously engine is carburetor model. I want to know only the number mentioned in the ECU that does not have the immobilizer that matches the engine in the photo above

In which case theres probably a little inexperience from us.
Mirages in Australia were all efi from 1996 onwards no carburetored ones after then. This makes it difficult to know what did and didn’t come with yours originally.

With that being said, your new engine being an efi model. Yes, you need the ECU, the immobilizer, key reader and keys to suit.
The key has a security chip in it, it gets read by the key reader around your key barrel. It relays the signal to the immobilizer which tells the ecu it’s ok to start. You may even need a different type of fuel pump.

So you need the matching key & immobilizer set.
Otherwise you need someone to program out the key security on the ECU.

Yes, I do not live in Australia. But the engine I bought was an engine brought to our country from Australia. Yes, as you said, everything changed to fit the EFI model. I want to know the ECU number for an engine that does not have an Immobiliser system. (Ex. MDxxxxxxx)
 
imo.pngIf there is a red and white wire from the B35 engine ecu socket as shown in this image, it is connected to the immobiliser system. If the wire is orange, it will not pass through the immobiliser. I want an ecu without immobiliser. It is difficult to find someone doing ecu reprogramming in our country.

You can't bypass the immobiliser without reprogramming the ECU on the Australian CE (all Australian vehicle since 1996~ came with an immobiliser), regardless of what engine it came with, as this was to stop theft of the car and engine. There is no standard Australia ECU that will work for your engine, it will need to be from your domestic market, or reprogrammed to suit.
You can rewire and manually set up switches to bypass and control fuel up and ignition, but this is a lot of additional work.
