Mirage bogging out

Hey guys I put a pod filter on my mirage and now whenever I put the foot down, it dies in the ass. If I slowly squeeze the throttle, it accelerates but not at a very wowwing pace. Im gonna check the fuel filter to see if it's blocked. Would resetting the ECU do any good? If so, how do I go about it?

Cheers

Try putting the stock filter back on and see what happens, did this happen as soon as you put the pod on, or did it happen weeks later

It happened a while after wards. I don't have the stock box anymore. I have a good feeling it's the fuel filter. The missus drove it until it started coughing because of a lack fuel

it is only a 1.5L engine... its to be expected, sounds exactly how mine responds normally

Would resetting the ECU do anything to help? I'm gonna get a fuel pressure regulator for it to replace the factory one. That might help

no a fpr wont help sadly, the oem one is rather decent, if it can fuel a 1.8 well it can easy fuel the 1.5's requirements

resetting ecu is worth a try seeing as its easy as pie, but i think it may be hot air or just the fact its a 1.5L engine

Yea I gotta build a box for the filter yet. Still working out wat to make it out of. All the ones I did in the past have been alloy but they heat up quick. How do u reset the ECU?

post a pic of the pod setup. what brand pod? did you bend any fins or drop the maf while installing?

He has a 1.5, they use MAP, I thought the same thing LOL

Yea it's the 1.5. I unplugged the battery a couple of weeks ago for about half an hour. There wasn't any change. I saw somewhere that you have to push the break in for 15 seconds while the battery is Un plugged

nope, loss of power resets ecu... then "aparently" take it for a hard drive right after
i say aparently cos i think that its a bit BS and it wont change much

heres your problem

If the issue started a few weeks after the pod filter was fitted, I'd probably ignore that as an issue, and treat it as a coincidence.

When you put the foot flat, does it hesitate first then start to accelerate, or just slowly accelerate?

I reset the ecu. It's made it a bit better.

It hesitates when I put the foot down then starts to take off after momentarily bogging out

yea i noticed mine hesitates too. fuark hope it doesnt bog out :/ i got the 1.8l though
