m21 to CC lancer conversion

Hey all, picking up a m21 on the weekend gonna transplant the 4g93p, box and interior. Will update more as it all cones along. Does anyone have any recommendations when doing this swap?

Rear disc brake conversion will be good too! Should be relatively straight forward. Engine, box ect will bolt directly in.

Swapping in the interior will require swapping out all interior looms, as well as the engine loom and upper dash loom. Good idea to swap the door cards for the power windows and mirrors. The exhaust manifold from the g93p most likely won't bolt up to your current exhaust system, so you may need to use your existing exhaust manifold. The M21 has the o2 sensor after the exhaust manifold, SOHC has the o2 sensor ON the exhaust manifold, so you will need to run a wire for that. Not sure if you need to swap the heater box and a/c gear but you should be prepared for that if you're doing a full interior swap.

If the m21 is complete then swap EVERYTHING, every bolt every loom every plastic

That way you know it will all work when turn key time arrives

Should take about 2 days to do full swap

I hate when people do things "on the cheap" coz it's quicker, or "the plugs are the same so should work" lol

Well yeh and no, seen it many times, fixed them many times

Ask Riggers about his car, for stuff that was suppose to be bolt on or plug in and running turned out to be more expensive when he could have waited and bought an auto M21 and changed it all, or do a complete manual conversion and use all the m21 parts

Do things right the first time and it will save alot of headaches, trust me

The fuel lines u can keep your own, also you can keep your oem fuel tank. That I can say is identicle

But then you don't get the satisfying feeling of fixing all the shiet that doesn't work

hey mikey i did well to do an Australian first in 2 days yeah it may not have been 100% but it started ran and had minimal issues.

i'm no auto elec and i really didn't have time at 3am to diagnose issues that weren't imediatly apparent (like a TCU not getting power thus not shifting the auto properly) all i knew was it started ran and went forwards i counted that a success. had he got the complete auto vehicle i would have done every nut bolt and loom.

Update: the m21 is now at home, thanks to JeeWiZ (+1 to him) it drives pretty good, could do with a service and a proper cleaning. The recaros are soo comfy, we did notice a leak in the boot seal, that and the wing was half bolted on. Will post pics up on my lunch break.

Australian first if what?

Oh I just realised you have a GL 1.5 Carby, you will need to replace the fuel tank and all the fuel lines also

Why arnt you keeping the M21 and mod that instead of the Lancer??

And... I just seen that you just threw a glxi cluster in your car, when you do the DOHC swap that cluster will be useless as it doesn't support the twin coil ignition setup, few people have tried to get it running but its not 100% accurate

With the cluster, I had a manual GSR cluster in my auto after the dohc swap and it kinda worked. My new manual DOHC cluster and new auto DOHC clusters dont work at all though. Sooooooooo that area is still a bit iffy.

Riggers your using the auto glxi dash loom still, that's why its not working plus yours is a weird late model cc lancer

Its been done before, there was a blue auto coupe getting around years ago, then he boosted it

He used full auto M21 setup and looms though, then used a Haltech E6 when he boosted it
