Lowering front only? Been done? Thoughts?

Serious searching? Well not serious enough, if you take a look at my ride thread you would see ive just lowered the front, superlow king springs in the front and stock suspension at the rear. IT looked fine in my opinion but then again i had 17's which helped in appearance, but the front is pretty stiff comapred to the front, i wouldnt say handling was worsened, probably slightly improved if anything

For some reason Lancers have ridiculous ride height. And sadly it seems the suspension travel does not allow for enough lowering, unless using coilovers.

The rear up look is fairly common with Hondas and I think it's primarily done such that a) there is more weight over the front hence more traction, an b) in theory it doesn't allow air under the car so no lift, meaning more stability etc.

One thing to note is that for the car to look "level" it actually has to sit level, which means more gap at the front. If you try to level it by tire gap only it'll always look like the rear is too high

It also pushes the centre of gravity forward and makes the car more prone to understeer doesn't it? I certianly noticed when my CJ went from a nose down stance on Kings to a more rear down stance on coilovers that the front would now track much better through corners to the point I could make the back step out instead if I pushed it to do so...

Also nose down stance on the CJ atleast makes it a *mum* getting into driveways. My car is lower than King Lows but has less trouble on driveways due to not having the nose down stance. Not sure how the CE goes with this but it's something to keep in mind for a daily...

Im not sure lowering the front or rear independently will change the C.G (forward/rearward), if you think about how high the C.G is to start with, then lower the front 60mm. The point wont change much.

And I think if you had more weight on the front wheels you will reduce under steer. Thats just my thinking

That makes no sense! Having a forward stance makes the car oversteer more. So the second part of your quote is right but the first part is wrong. :)

from what I've read on the net The rear should always be slightly higher (~10mm) than the front, otherwise interesting things happen at high speed! any higher not Shaw! don't know if this helps as i I've had a couple! & sorry for spamming this thread if so!

Pretty much every car has more ground clearance at the rear anyway, so don't worry you wont do a Mark Webber and take off lol
