Low revs problem (SOLVED)

Hey guys, i own a 2003 MR lancer and i went for a drive in it today to practice driving manual (yes im still on my L's haha :p) so i went driving for a bit but when i came to a stop, i stalled although i did everything right (i stopped like usual, foot all the way down on the clutch ect ect), then i turned my car on again and my revs were sitting on 600 and the car started shaking like it was about to stall (my car usually stays on 800 rpm while idiling). so then i went driving for another 15 minutes then pulled over to see if the revs were going back to usual, but were on around 700 rpm this time

the last time i drove my car was 1 week ago and i installed a new headunit into my car today, but dont see how that could really affect the revs.
any ideas ?? :eh:

thanks :)

Re: Low revs problem

the revs can depend on the temperature off the car, and the electrical load on the car.

if you just turned on your stereo and lights maybe, the revs will dropp and it can sound like it wants to stall. it happens to me if i turn the AC on at idle.

Re: Low revs problem

if the battery was unhooked while installing the head unit, it is probably the ecu just resetting itself. Nothing major, will go back to normal after a few trips

Low revs problem

It should idle at 700. So 600 shouldn't affect it. How often is the car driven I am thinking maybe *poo*ty fuel?

I missed the installed today bit. This will be the cause. it will happen anytime the battery is disconnected. it will fix itself.

the last time i put fuel in my car was 2 weeks ago and my car was running fine until after the headunit was installed ><

Re: Low revs problem

Yea I'd say it's what's been mentioned. When I disconnected my battery, afterwards I nearly stalled it up my driveway. In the next day or two it was all back to normal.

Re: Low revs problem

Let the car idle to warm. Don't touch anything (inc brake, acc...) should fix it
