I need HID's.

Hey peeps, I've done countless hours of searching (on AusLancer, google, ebay) for a HID kit for the CE 2001. There are bare minimum resources for how to retrofit HID kits, or anything that fits in the original housing. So now is the time I ask you, people with HID's or experience with them... I'm looking for 5000k projectors (preferably angel eyes, because they look *woo-hoo* bomb)

Wanting to know where they're from, reliability, price, ease in installation, and resources on them if possible. Also would love to see what they look like when installed on a lancer or any car for that matter.

Pretty much have to be RHD or adjustable, and <$350

Cheers peeps!

Hey tron, thanks for those links, I was wondering what the wire harness we need is, and if there are any specific projector shrouds which may not fit in the lancer light cover?

For the harness, you need a 9006/H4 (as your lancer is H4) to a H1 IIRC.

I didnt get one, when Joshy and I do our hell show me how to make one.

The Projector shrouds need to suit the projector you choose, i just got the Mini graphite as it looks small and is free with the projector. I think a heap of them fit the MH1's but im not sure on size, have to email Matt@TRS to check, they are very helpful and respond quickly.

i think joshy_morris sells hid kits (according to his sig anyway) (?)

He does, but thats just the ballast and bulbs. Thats what im putting in my projectors anyways.

retrofit is the only way to go~
morimoto minis with mini gatling shrowds... Mmmmmmmmint

Yeah if u need a full HID kit ( ballasts bulbs and harness ) i do sell like every type u can get. Theyre revolution brand.

yaya gotta start saving for these HID's... if only I had a full time job paying 1k a week...

Did you do well in year 12? I can point you in the direction of a few jobs that pay more than that even!

I hope those angel eyes don't break after mere minutes too... I just bought a set of those concept projectors with angel eyes and an Audi R8 style LED DRL bar, for a friend's black CJ SX.

From what people have been saying on here, they're prone to failure, so we might put them on a separate switch. Now question for the crowd, do you think it's possible to cut/reconnect the wires from the ballast to the bulb on a HID kit? I ask because the rear of the CJ headlights have a screw cap, which will stop the use of HID ballasts. If we were to put in a grommet and pass wires through, that would solve a lot of the problem.

If not, my mate will just have to settle for projectors with Philips Crystal Visions!

Thanks for any responses and sorry for the threat hijack.

The mines are exciting, no doubt, but I feel it is a very saturated market and demand may lower in the near term... Don't get used to big pay packets, they may not be there forever..

My Brother-In-Law is an engineer up at Emerald, he is pushing me to get out of my Navy job and come up to the mines for work. I wouldn't earn any more money, but there are other benefits.

With an OP of 10, you could get just about any job in the Navy, Army or Air Force, worth a thought...because there are loads of jobs in here worth more than the mines pay...

Good luck with your studies and short-term work in the mines..

haha my work in the mines isn't any dirty hard work, it's environmental consulting or something, i think it's like paid work experience pretty much. and nah yuck the military, that's more long term
