This is a How To on posting pictures in the forum. I see this question asked heaps, so hopefully this helps.

This how to will cover;

  • Uploading photos from PC
  • Uploading from your iDevice - Not yet added, will do when i get more time.
  • Posting the photo on the forum via PC or iDevice

Uploading photos from PC

  1. First you will need an online photo hosting website. I like and recommend Photobucket, because its free, easy to use, has an iOS app, and has a Firefox add-on so you can even add already online photos to your collection. Goto Photobucket and sign up if you haven't already.
  2. Now you want to upload a photo from your PC. Click the upload button.
  3. select the "Select Photos and Videos" button.
  4. This will bring up a pop up box, use it to navigate to the photo you wish to upload, you can select more than one photo by holding "Ctrl" while you select. When you have chosen, click "save"
  5. Photobucket will now process your upload.
  6. When it finishes your upload, click the "Save and continue to my album" button, either will suffice.
  7. Now you will see your album, it will contain the photo/s you just uploaded.

Posting the photo on the forum via PC or iPhone/iPod touch

  1. If using your PC log onto Photobucket and view your album.

  2. Hover over the photo you wish to post (alternatively you can click the photo to open the photo in a larger preview) to enable the URL codes box, and click the yellow section corresponding to the IMG Code.
  3. The IMG code is now copied to your clipboard.

  • If using an iDevice, open the Photobucket app (and login if required) and tap the "My albums" option at the bottom.

  • Tap the refresh button in the top right (circular arrow) to allow your idevice to sync with your Photobucket account
  • Now tap the picture you wish to share to view in fullscreen, to view the URL codes like on PC, you need to tap the information button in the bottom right corner ( the letter "i" in italics
  • Now tap the white section corresponding to the IMG code.

  • A dialog box will appear telling you the IMG code has been copied to the clipboard.

  • Now using either the browser on your PC or your iDevice, navigate to the form which you want to post your photo (eg. Chat or Topic post or Reply)
  • If using PC, right click in the text area to bring up the special menu and click paste (or ensure your cursor is focused in the text field and press Ctrl + V
  • If using an iDevice, enter text mode by tapping the text area, then Tap and hold on the black text area until a menu appears (a few seconds). Select the paste option.
  • Code will now be inserted into the text field.
  • Now preview your reply to ensure it makes sense and the picture is where you want it ( you can test your code by pressing preview instead of submit), then click submit.

    TADA

That is all for now.

Thats awesome, good idea Tron!

Also for those who don't wanna use photobucket for whatever reason, you can use you own photo links with .jpeg/.png/.gif on the end of links using the
Code:
[img][/img]
BBCode.

eg.
Code:
[img]www.skippy.id.au/gallery3/cars/CElancer.jpeg[/img]
I would show you a tutorial I did for my friend to upload youtube videos, but since I can't find it, HERE you go ;)
You're going to be using this code to show videos in your reply:
Code:
[youtube][/youtube]
First find your file:

Next goto http://www.youtube.com and log into you account using an existing account, your google account or by making a new one!

Once logged in, goto "UPLOAD"

Click on select files and goto the directory and file you originally found:

Once done your file will start to upload. You can change the title, description and that here, make sure your upload is Public or unlisted otherwise embeding will not work

Goto video manager and find your upload and open the video:

Get the long url by clicking the check box and then copying the URL from the box above:

Now goto auslancer and start a reply to a thread or even create a new one if it's a new topic. Paste your URL into the reply box (1), then select the whole url again (2), then click on the youtube button(3) and it should look like this:

Once done you video will be embedded and playable from your reply!

also the [ URL] feature is quite handy as well (right next to the [ img] button).
it can let you paste a text Hyperlink instead of the whole URL.

First get your URL.
(Eg. http://www.youtube.com/user/scarycaboose )

Then you use this code:
Code:
[url=http://www.youtube.com/user/scarycaboose]My Awesome YouTube Channel, SFW![/url]
You replace my URL with yours and then inbetween the ] ['s put the text you want to be displayed
If done correctly it'll turn out like so:
My Awesome YouTube Channel, SFW!

I've been thinking we needed this for a while. Bit annoying seeing photos that are so small and you have to click on each one to see a bigger pic!

You should also add if you have a mac.

You can get a plug in for iPhoto. Download the plug in, put in your account details, and then all you have to do is select the photos you want in iPhoto, click export and then click "Log In". Takes 2 seconds and uploads directly to photobucket. Once it's done it will take you to the website where you can then click in the image code to copy it and paste it here.

If you have an iPhone, take a picture and it will go to your photo stream in iPhoto. Click on the photo(s) and export them as said. Simple and takes 2 seconds!
