How to: changing Mufflers?

Hey guys,

This is my first post, so i may sound like an idiot. (sorry in advance)
my car is a 2002 CE GLi Lancer.
so i was thinking of changing my stock muffler, to something a little better looking and if possible better sounding. First off, ive been looking on ebay and i have found these two mufflers:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Universal-St ... 4238wt_905
and
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Universal-St ... 4526wt_905

i was wondering if you think it would be alright to buy something like these. I dont think they are a particular brand, but does this matter? would i have alot of problems do you think? and would they fit on my car?

now i was also wondering how i would take off the old stock muffler and install the new one once i have bought it, is there any way you guys could give me step by step instructions or something? pictures would also be appreciated.

Thanks for all your help in advance :D

how is the CE final muffler oriented? Is there space to permit such a short twin tip -post muffler?

The aim of the game is to copy the set-up/shape of the previous muffler (unless you are very proficient at welding purchased mandrel bends).

Best advice, take it to a muffler shop and get them to do the work... n00bs should not attempt this!

i just had a twin tip installed on my car, a fairy reasonable sized twin tip at that :p (i think dual 3inch outlets)
and it fits snug in my rear bumper exhaust gap (very snug :p )

but a new muffler like them to install will be about $50-$100 to install (welded on)

*edit
yeh, so dual 3inch fits snug, if you go any bigger than that, you will have to sit it alot lower off the rear bumper (which will look silly)

fair enough, maybe i will just take it to a muffler shop if its too complicated.
do you guys think buying a no brand muffler is alright though?

i fit 2.5 inch twin tips within the designated gap for the exhaust so i imagine you would have no trouble fitting something similar or smaller, just take it to an exhaust shop and they will do all the hard work for you... easy as pi

If you go through his ride thread, you'll see what his last exhaust was haha, Id guess it was for looks ahhaa

na, the exhaust thread, and that was with the hot dog on, but the new one sounds very similar, just a bit deeper
but imo the new muffler sounds like a dog, but you cant expect anything great being ebay crap and all
but it looks cool :p

magnaflow twin 2.5 inch fits pretty snug anything more than that and you would need to cut the bumper which is a major pain in the ass (trust me i cut my front bumper up... not fun at all), if your going to get anything i would go for a twin 2 inch tips with 2 inch piping...
