Hi Guys,
Have been wanting to slowly mod my Mirage. Just wondering if anyone can help with a question regarding compatibility.

Have been looking at wreckers for
Front and rear bumpers
Door cards for power window conversion
Centre console with lid

What cars would be best for this and which ones should I not even try?

Apologies for the Noob question but I guess we all start somewhere, right?

Hey mate, welcome aboard.

If you can find someone wrecking a Lancer MR coupe it’ll have everything you want. Power windows, power mirrors, black interior trims, console with lid, cup holders, better seats. And foglights if you want them.

I actually bought a wrecked MR from the auctions when I got my mirage back in the day. And the transplanted all the upspec goodies from that in to my mirage. It’s a good option if you have room.

Another alternative is to find a VRX mirage, essentially an MR Lancer in a hatchback. But they are much much rarer. So you probably won’t find one easily.

The only things compatible from Lancer sedans is most things under the bonnet, the carpet and the dash parts pretty much.

There’s not really any options in the way of rear bumpers. Not unless you find someone who makes aftermarket fiberglass. In saying that even those are few and far between now.
*woo-hoo* spec is long dead, Body kit makers have almost completely fizzled out.

As Arc said, your best bet is to look for MR Lancers, they have the most upspec features and are far easier to find, though still uncommon. Just note that you will not be able to use the rear quarter trim or rear seats from Lancers as they bolt in differently compared to the Mirage. The VRX Mirages are basically unicorns at this point, even if you find one, they do not have a centre console with the lid, adjustable seat headrests or cupholders like the MR Lancers do.

If you're going for the full interior conversion like I did, be prepared for it to take a very long time to get every piece. Going to the wreckers every other week is a pain in the ass, I spent over a year and half getting all my bits. You'll save yourself a lot of headache by buying a wrecked MR.
