Got my silicone spray from Supercheap Auto for around $12 can. Get under the car and spray it on any suspension rubber bushes on all the joints. Can't hurt anything so go nuts. The diagram in an earlier post in this thread is good to get an idea of where the bushes will be before you climb under the car.
Good luck
HI
@Hungie
How are you going? Hope all´s good, so yeah I went straight to Supercheap Auto to get the silicone spray can, and I have sprayed it all over the suspension, and the areas mentioned, but the little dull banging when driving over little bumps etc. is still happening.
When I got the car, the next day I went to the mechanic, and the banging sound has gotten a bit less rattling, but is still there, and it drives me insane
.
Mechanics who checked and "repaired" my car, said there is a bit noise left but I do not have to worry about anything.
Here is what they wrote:
-> Inspect for Rattling Noise, Front End
*Investigated for rattling noise being reported to by customer, when driving on roads (bumps.) etc.
*Test drove vehicle to identify noise
*Placed vehicle on hoist, traced and found source of noise coming from worn Front Swaybar link bushes
*Installed new front sway bar link bush kit for L/H & R/H sides
*Test drove vehicle under local conditions, test is ok
*Sway bar link kit being used for vehicle.
-> The problemo is, it is better, but there is still a rattling, sounds like the suspension, I mean if it is not hazardous what the mechanics said, it is all good,
but the sound just drives me INSANE lol, and Cairns roads are not the best hehe so it is driving me nuts.
So: Been to mechanic AND got this silicone spray, but still got this rattling sound when driving over bumpy roads.
Hope anyone can help me at all what is going on and how I can get rid of this damn noise
...
Cheers for now, 29er.
