Should get a bunch of CJ members next week too :D

New smilies (16 all up) have been installed as per Drakos' request for a thumbs up smiley! :D

Ryan, just a suggestion for the site.

As for guests on the site, can you limit to what they can see, like the sections on the forum.

Maybe only let them see the introduction to the site and what the site is all about.

Once they sign up, they can have full access to the forum and what it has to offer.

At the moment, they can only see Club Matters, Introductions and the Technical Sections. As much as I'd like to limit the technical sections this would then mean that google isn't able to properly search it and this would mean that people searching for Lancer info won't stumble across our site, which I know on other sites is how members do come across the forums....

As is, the Off-Topic discussions and State sections are all only visible to members though...

Ryan,

Is it possible to get a DIY forum for DIY guides...

And thanks for the spotted cards

I tried searching this site and its pretty hard to find. You pretty have to write in Auslancer. Maybe we need an opening page, and have AUS LANCER.

Space the lancer. Thats what most people search, Lancer forums.

A section for achiving standard info, like user manuals and fuel comsuption records, this stuff may help people googleing this info find the site.

DIY subforums have been added under each model. As for standard info like fuel economy, user manuals, etc I think it will be easiest to just keep it seperated out in the separate sections and then have it stickied, like what I've done to the manual drakos posted in the CE section. I am hesitant in creating heaps of new sub-sections as it'll make the forum confusing and harder to navigate...

A section for event photos has been added. A section for other photos has been added under the Off-topic discussions forum.

As for searching in Google, alot of that has to do with the quality of info on this site and number of hits, etc. I've optimized the meta-tags but otherwise there isn't much I can do. A seperate beggining page (possibly a portal style) is something I am looking at doing further down the track!

thought i would be better posting this here.

The only catch is, any new posts in here won't go towards your post count....

Should stop some people from spamming in here purely to boost their post count!

Is that the same for all of off-topic? if not i think it should be.

Yeap, and thats coming from captain spam.

The main part of the off-topic discussion will still go towards your post count.

Also state chat threads will be cleaned out regularly to stop them becoming massively big...

Nice site guys. I do like it.

Just a couple of suggestions asthetically.

I think signiture size has to decrease. It is seriously bumping up page sizes... which is a big concern for people who 3G browse or who have been capped. It also seriously distrupts the flow of the page when reading posts in succesion. Limit to say 550x200.

The chat feature is great. I love it. The problem is with its location though. With the scroll feature embedded, when scrolling down the page, the mouse gets trapped in the chat window and scrolls through that. This pisses me off to no end. I think it would be better suited to a side bar sort of situation.

Thanks

Yes i agree with you scott, its annoying when you just wanna quick flick thru the site but get caught in the chat

Yes I've been looking at what you sent me, the thing is though that it would take a bit of coding to do that. I'm not sure that I'm upto date enough on php and HTML/CSS coding to be able to do that.
