EV0 7 GTA fuel consumption ?

I'm thinkin' on buying a GTA and wonder if the horrible of 14ltr to 100klm whist driving like an OAP on valium are true or whether that type of consumption only applies to lead footed bufoons and cars with totally rooted 02 sensors and idiot pods on them ?

:D

Depends how and where you drive. Had a "thirsty" Mitsubishi 380 that was stated to use 12-13L/100km and I got 9.8L/100km out of it with 70% highway driving while still giving it a boot full sometimes.

Thanks for the replies , I'm a light footed driver , as a rule , and I'm just concerned that the 14 to the hundred is the norm for the GTA and it gets really thirsty when you put the boot in hence my question.

I live in Hervey Bay at the moment and I'm guessing that the nearest tuner would be in Brisbane , maybe Mercury Motorsport ? and that's a 340klm each way trip , if anyone knows anyone closer I'm all ears.

Everything gets thirsty when you flog it. The only things that stay thirsty all the time are v8's, v10's and v12's.

To my way of thinking 14ltr to the 100klm in a stock as a rock 2ltr even mix city/highway not booting it is already in the thirsty group , that's Jeep Wrangler territory and they're 4ltr 6's .

I'll be contacting MRT when they're back and having a chat to see what they reckon an EcuTek flash/tune will do--and how much it costs

If anyone knows what the factory fuel consumption figures are for the Evo7 GTA I'd be gratefull if you could post--or even better if you have one what KPL you are really getting

Ok let me put it this way. CC Lancers (1.8L 4cyl) are stated to have 9L/100km when you flog them or city drive a lot. I get 7.5-8L/100km and I floor it a lotttttttttt. Mitsubishi 380 (3.8L V6) is stated to do just over 13L/100km and I had it under 10L/100km. You need to take all of these "figures" with a grain of salt, none are going to be true to your driving style. Also remember it's a turbocharged performance vehicle, fuel consumption was not high on the agenda when making it. In saying that, it's still a 4cyl and it still all depends on your driving style. That's about all that needs to be said on this subject in general. If you really think you need a fuel consumption tune on a 4cyl car, you should be looking very closely at your driving habits instead.

Why don't you google it? A re-tune is generally around $650 plus, but have no idea why you bought a 2.0L Turbo car if your worried about fuel consumption.
For one, an auto car is less fuel efficient than a manual, and even being a GTA, it is still classed as a performance vehicle, so fuel is always going to get drunk faster than if you'd got the 1.8 naturally aspirated equivilant.

All you should do is make sure your GTA is running as sweet as it can be, by going through he normal things like, cleaned injectors, clean filter, less restictive exhaust, wheel bearings in good cond, wheel alignment set up for normal driving, service the transmission with filter and oil change. Then at that point you can elect to get the economy tune done, although if you don't get strange looks when asking for this, i'd be surprised, but even a good tune will make your engine more efficient, which will need even less throttle to do what you want it to do.

OK So no-one who has posted so far has a clue what the answer to the op is but felt that they just had to too post smart comments so here's the SP--- go *fudge* yourselves I need this site as much as I need another hole in the head.

I won't be back.

The question was answered like 4 times over for you:

- Driving style
- Where you drive
- How well your car is running
- Why you shouldn't expect very low figures

I have no idea what else you want answered, because your original question was covered multiple times. Also nobody was having a personal attack on you, don't be a farking baby, and here's a real "smart" comment for you if you thought anyone was being smart before.

If you're going to be a little *mum* about aboslutely nothing, then go *fudge* yourself because we don't need whiny little *Richard Cranium*s running around claiming abuse because they don't like the answer to a question. You're as bad a feminist. *fudge* off.

lolwut.
OP everything has been covered.
The tune part. If you were to go get it tuned don't bother with ecutek. Get the oem ecu retuned to suit YOUR car. That way the afr's are good, you know its good. You can tell the tuner what you want ect.

Also if your worried about fuel consumption buy a normal lancer or something else. 14lph isn't even that bad.

I probably would have directed the OP to one of the evo forums.
If anyone here owned a GTA I'd say ask <insert name> But I can't think of anyone here who does.

But anyway, first thing to do when your new to a forum and can't take a little advise is to blow up and tell everyone to go F themselves.

WTG

Wow, OP raged over nothing. Wont make it far on an evo forum with that attitude either. When you cant handle being told to "google it" (for more info) after question was answered 3 times prior.

Poor f*cker.
Cant read properly, and about to buy the sh*ttiest evo model available on the market and his main concern is fuel economy.

Maybe he actually does have one too many holes in the head

If OP is still around, its approx 12L/100km from factory, your doing good if you get around 400kms on a full tank.

My Airtrek is getting about 13/14 with about 50/50 highway/city driving. It's heavier and less aerodynamic than a GTA so make of that what you will.

Also LOL at chucking a *poo*

I get 250-350/ tank.. depending on driving style in an evo 5.. just as a comparison.
