engine swap/rebuild

One of the CE coupes I have has only the piss poor 4G15 in it I really am after more power.... so I am looking at putting a 4G93 into it - but the only 4G93 I can get my hands on has done massive klms and needs a complete rebuild, so were do I start, -
Do I need to pull and replace all the bottem end apart and replace what?
I have a new ported head so that will transfer over easily...
Just not sure about what work needs to be done on the bottem end -

Also trying to decide while I am there replacing parts do we beef it up and increase compression to 10:1 or do I lower it and go turbo keeping in mind I m going to returbo the 4G69 soon.

yeah I am leaning towards that - so what parts should I be looking at for fixing this shagged out engine... my guess is the following please add to the list if I have missed anything.
new bearing (bottem end)
new rods
New pistons
new water pump and seals

other non internal parts will include -
ported intake mani
60mm throttle body
lightened under crank
adjustable cam gear
ported head new valve seals
new air flow meter 501?
extractors
exhaust 21/2"

Up compression and stay NA cam and rev it out to 7.5k rpm :-D
7.5? Stock 1.5 goes to 7.2 lol

And the engine being talked about is a 4G93, which goes to 6750.

What you have listed sounds about right, just the usual check the bore and give it a hone if needed. All new seals, cam, crank, etc.

thanks Tron yeah forgot to list the main bolts ...

So it seems then that is all there is to it then just change a few bits over seals bolts pumps etc... cool.

I have just finishd painting up the last few MR pieces of the kit and it has come up really nice so will have that fitted in next day or so then just need to get a mates car in and swap out his clapped out engine and then I get to rebuild that and install into my POS 4G15... might have something half decent soon.

cant see this costing me too much as I have most of the parts already here I think biggest exppense is going to be clutch and flywheel... approx $1k :/

The only other thing I have not factored in is tuning...

I was at the wreckers the other day and spotted a Hyundai in there not sure of model or year bit hard to tell... but the bonnet was up and it had a DOHC and orientation was same as the CE, were do I look to find the damn engine number when looking on the plates just could not see it,
I know that there is a Hyundia head that fits the 4g93 could this be it?

Did it look like this?

Im pretty sure all the Hyundai motors are 4g6X based. But i could be wrong.

yeh i have seen lots of those hundaiz engines aswell, thought about it but i doubt parts would be compatible with 4g9x's

It wouldn't be built like a 4g63T though. Itd be built like a basic engine. Almost bought a Hyundai Accent with Evo IV running gear in it. Would've been the biggest sleeper.

yeah pretty much like that were abouts would I need to look for the engine number on the engine, and if it is a 4G63NA would it fit our ce lancer and what about the wire up

I would probs look on the front of the engine under the exhaust manifold, similar to the mitsu motors.

You want the G4FK engine, its a 2L NA. wire up, i have no idea, but im sure its similar enough make do since its based on the mitsu engine.

For wiring up I'd suggest aftermarket computer, if u need a low Km motor pm me ill steer you in the right direction, mines only got 130,000kms and it's a 97 motor lady owner came with the original books from Mitsubishi
