Hi all, have recently purchased a 2001 1.8ltr coupe.
It has an engine light on constantly, when scanned (with proper workshop scanner) it shows no codes but when you change the scanner to a 1.5ltr lancer it shows a code for the mass air pressure sensor (which the 1.8 doesn't have, it has a mass air flow sensor.
The engine definitely is a 1.8, and has a mass air flow sensor. I swapped the ecu for one I bought that had an immobiliser delete, bit the code still shows. Also, the code on both ecu's are the same.
Furthermore I wouldn't worry about just an engine light but it's thirsty as hell, only 370kms to a full tank, and it idles up and down quite dramatically when it's cold.
