Hey guys,
Wrote a tutorial on how to install the Mini Quik Release Latch for the lancer/Mirage. Just some background info on my car, I am running BC Reds coils with the coils almost maxed out on low setting with maxed out negative camber from camber tops. (not using cambar arms). I am running 16x8+20 wheels with 195/45/16. I was scrubbing like mad going over potholes and uneven road surfaces and after removing the bumper tabs and replacing it with bumper quik release I have 0 problems with full lock turning or scrubbing and will possible even be able to run 205/45/16 for my next tyre change.

Thing you will need:
- Angle Grinder
- Socket Set
- Flat Head
- Ink pen
- Glad Wrap
- Drill piece that cuts circles (20mm)
- Thread Lock
- Quik release Latch (about $35each, i used 2, but 4 is preferred), bought from https://www.facebook.com/pages/Howards-race-cars-fabrication/783580965043498?pnref=lhc
This is similar to the (JDM) rubber band quik release, however you dont need to drill into the guard, and IMO it looks more flush and less noticeable
Step 1:
Disconnect and Remove your headlights, by undoing the few bolts.
Step 2:
Remove the front bar by undoing the 2 tabs which will need a flat head and the bolts holding the bumper together to the Fender (possibly have more bolts to undo, however my car always only ever had 2 tabs and 2 bolts holding the bumper on)
Step 3:
Get out the quik release kit which looks like this
Separate the button from the ball joint and you will need to use the ball joint for this part, it is recommended you use 4 quik release but i only used 2 cause i was cheap. This is where you will be mounting the ball joint
Step 4:
Get some glad wrap and wrap it around the ball joint and use an ink pen and put ink on the balljoint with the glad wrap on top
Step 5:
Put your front bar back on and take it back off and it will make a dot from the inked glad wrap, you can see i used gray ink pen here
Step 6:
Use the tool for cutting circles and make a circle, then pop the button on and tighten it
Step 7:
Pop the front bar back on, make sure it sits how its supposed to sit on the car, clip on the quik release button with the ball joint then adjust the ball joint to make sure the front bar sits inline with the fender. Once you have it sitting flush, put some weak thread lock on the ball joint screws to ensure it sits tight and doesn't move from the vibrations of the car over time when you are driving
Step 8:
Repeat the steps and do it for the other side
Step 9:
Once other side is done, get out your angle grinder and cut the fender bumper tab as well as the bumper tab on the bumper
Step 10:
Once that's done, go for a drive and it shouldn't be scrubbing anymore, and it now sits flush for a quik release without the ugly rubber bands
