different performance options

Go for it roro I'm not gonna get it lol. Remember you're gonna have to find brakes that will stop all that powa too

Fark it's gonna cost a lot lol. Brakes, coils, the turbo kit, engineering. Over 5k right there.

ggrrrr.... too much running through my head... and i still need a ute :(((((((

why do apprentices get paid stuff all -.-

Yeah its a big number when you do it all at once.

I'm going to throw my 2 cents in

I'm not entirely sure what your aiming for? As in a fun car to cruise/travel in. Or a week end track car?
If your serious about getting a V8 ute (better be a manual...), then I'd be leaving the lancer pretty well standard.

You don't want to end up with 2 'project cars'. Because that 'never' works out, it will end up being two half built cars that are not really useable.
So pick the favorite and go with it; leaving the other pretty well standard. We all hate to admit it, but there are times when it is nice to drive a standard car around.

& if your just after a fun car to fang around on the week ends, a powerful RWD will always trump a FWD.

Anyway, just my opinion of it. Now... wheres my flame suit.

If you're gonna get a v8 ute, that's obviously gonna be powerful so I wouldn't bother making the lancer powerful. Brace it up and put some coils in it and the lancer is really fun to drive.
I just drove my family's Astra, and man I didn't realise just how much more cornering grip the lancer has over it, the tyres squeal in that thing over nothing! So make your lancer fast (in corners) just not powerful in a straight line coz you got the v8 for that.

Actually forget all that, turbo lancer ftw! ;)

Yeah, id go for a V8 ute because they are epic! When you think about it, the Ute will be really powerful, probably more powerful than a turboed lancer, after the hard work of turboing it and it still doesnt feel like the V8 it might feel a bit of a let down. Thats just my opinion though. Id be doing some suspension mods to the lancer

Having gone from a V8 to my now Mirage, I can understand the V8 part.
I do quite regularly miss that sweet sound. Oh... And the POWEER!!!!!!!!
But I DO NOT miss a car that drinks 28L/100kms to the Mirages 6.5L/100km average.

If you want a V8 ute, be prepared to empty your wallet out twice a week at about $80-100 a tank!
