Cooper rotors on lancer

1mm further for each pad to clamp really shouldnt make a noticeable difference, plus 1mm height will only really affect your clearance. If your wheels are within 1mm of your brakes then i think you might be in more trouble before going to these rotors

Yes the height won't really change anything, just make your wheels sit 1mm closer in.
The thickness though, maybe it has an effect on cooling the rotor etc as the fins inside may have less space

dont think so spetz. disc height will have no effect on the location of the hub/offset of wheel. will not change location of wheel whatsoever.

Correct, the wheel will be in the same place, just the part of the rotor the calipers grip will be further from the rim.

Yes you guys are right, sorry for my mistake.
I guess it will not make a difference as the piston/pad will just be in 1mm off
Anyone concerned about the 2mm thinner disc though?

As I said, that 2mm difference will just mean each brake pad has 1mm further to travel before clamping. I don't see this making any difference from having brake pads that have 1mm of wear in them from brand new.

What Ian said, also they are about 600grams lighter and have more wear before the minimum thickness.

They should sit central too, the 1mm differencw in height and the 2mm rotor thickness should equal out if you think about it you're technically removing 1mm either side to centralise. If you can picture it in your head. Any way these are being fitted this afternoon.

Wicked pics man!

So are you waiting for these? They fit very well, no dramas of caliper contact on my hour long and hard drive home.

Awesome work man... the red callipers look good with those wheels. Hopefully mine will turn up tomorrow and I can get them on over the weekend

Don't have to redrill them to fit a ce, so bit cheaper. as well as no 2mm spacer ring for the hub.

Oh and in my haste to fit these the paint got slightly damaged on the calipers so I'll have to at some point freshen them up. And also paint the centre of the rotors black.

Maybe they inner fins have less space between them and in turn have worse cooling qualities than a 2mm thicker rotor?

Easy fix on cooling, remove the rear shields, I don't think it'll be much of an issue though. I'll be doing this just didn't have enough time after work today. When I repaint things in the not so distant future I'll remove them at the same time. Probably when the engines going in.
