Hey guys I have a 04 vrx ch lancer.
I personally find the seats horribly uncomfortable this maybe because I'm 6 foot 6 ??
Just wondering what other seats will bolt in?
I assume evo seats will fit but I imagine they will be far too expensive for me.
Any help will be heaps appreciated

Yeah seats from the Evo 7-9 will bolt in. Expect to pay between 700-1000+ depending on quality.
Also keep in mind the evo 7, cant tell you about the others but they look the same, are quite a narrow and tight fitting seat. Also the foam they use in Recaros is a little harder then you will find in stock seats. Most people would feel the need to take a break after 2-3 hours driving..

the limited edition release ch half suede, half leather seats will as well.
the ch seats are horrible uncomfortable though, i felt your pain for a long time, i had an evo 8 seat ready to go before my car was written off, great choice if you have the coin.

I found a set of the velocity seats but there's no different other than the trim if I'm correct?

So is my only option evo seats?

pretty much, if the feel of the seat is whats giving you grief (as it played havoc on my back just from the lack of side support, no issue with cj's seats)
then evo seats are pretty much your only other simply installed option.

Ok thanks liom.
Yeah no side support and the back shape/support gives me lower back discomfort.

I used to own a 2000 wrx and I personally found the stock seats the most comfy seats I've ever had. So I imagine evo seats will have a similar feel.

not sure if you would be interested but unfortunately after allowing some of my friends to smoke in my car one of them dropped a butt on my seat and now its left a cigarette hole instead of buying new seats i found these great looking leather seat covers there a bit expensive but you wouldn't even realise there only covers http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SEAT-COVER-T ... 4d1059f475 plus with the added foam they make the seat a little bit more comfortable.

Thanks Tom. I appreciate the link but for me if I was gonna spend $600 I'd prefer to save a bit more and get some tidy evo seats

I find the evo 7 recaros to have so much lower back support! I have been on 2-3 hour drives and they are very comfortable.. Im 6 foot 2 and 80kg.. I only just fit in the seats as said above they are very narrow

i hear the 7's are the most aggressive in fitting of the 7-8-9 range.
the 8's look a lot like the 7's in the non mr form but are slightly more forgiving in the padding, up to you if thats your thing.
the 9's look the coolest (in my opinion) but are the most general in fitment.

honestly, if chasing any of these considering how rarely they come up i'd grab the first good deal you could find, otherwise you'll resort to craziness like importing them via container from japan.

Yes they are. I can't stop complaining to myself how painful it is to get out of the car after a long drive. The seats sit in quite deep where your backside sits and lacks decent back support in that area - even the Velocity!

Hows the CJ ones compared to the CH?

yeah, everyone teased me wanting to get a recaro seat to be more comfortable, but they didnt know the pain of sitting in those seats for hours on end, especially on the twisties, the lower back just has to absorb all the lateral motion.

the cj seats are nothing to write home about, but they're decently comfortable, ok support everywhere, they have height adjustability which is nice but the raised door and pillars mean you cant take them too low. in comfort though they're alright.

OP: Get SCA synthetic leather seat covers (about $85) and some foam from Clark Rubber. Pad the foam where needed and whack on the seat covers. Cheapest way to fix the issue.

Nice. Then I take it that it's much better than the CH seats.

the mourning period isn't quite over yet.

I saw those seats on eBay it's exactly what I want but I just haven't got the money to do it. Even the colour would match my car which is blue.
