Central locking playing up. (FIXED)

Hey guys, went to lock my car today in my CE Sedan and it was kinda weird. It turned as per normal but only the driver side door locked, nothing else. Then I did it again and only the front two locked and lastly nothing locked. After a few more tries it eventually all worked. Any ideas about what's happening here? D:

Re: Central locking playing up.

2 things i can think off off the top of my head,

Fistly,
The actuators could be getting stuffed

Secondly,
Check all the power connections and grounds, mine used to do the same thing as when the door unlocked / locked, the actuator was lose which disconnected as it moved as the ground was lose

Same issue to mine.. Is the actuators that black thing inside the door??

yeh, the actuator is the little black thing that pushes and pulls the lock into position

Looks similar to this

Just make sure that the unit itself is firmly mounted (not lose or wabbly) and make sure that the loom coming off it are clear of any moving parts such as window/motors/door handle

It does it with both passenger and driver's side so Im guessing I might have to replace them both?

Re: Central locking playing up.

When you get the door cards off, disconnect the cable runners from the actuator, hit lock / unlock on the remote and see if it has enough grunt to actually lock/unlock the door
In my car, they still push and pull, but mine dont have enough grunt to actually push the lock so i replaced it, cost like $35 from SCA to replace them

Re: Central locking playing up.

The trouble with mine is that they don't lock the passenger door (I have a coupe might be slightly different but I don't know) from the drivers door.. But if I lock it from the passenger door, the drivers door locks as well.. Could this be a faulty actuators on driver side?

I'll have to try this, thanks man!

That was mine for a bit, but now it's slowly deteriorated to the point where both have stopped fully functioning. Might be a good idea to change the actuator on the driver side door anyways?

Ended up taking the actuator out, unplugging it, giving it a clean and putting it back in and its worked ever since. So maybe its a temp fix but it seems to be doing okay.

Good to hear it's all working now. Its so much better when you can fix it for free!
And if it does break again you will know how it all works!
Yay for learning experiences!

Yaaaaaaay
If it breaks and I actually have to replace it, I might do my first DIY. Not that it's a hard fix but I guess doing a DIY is like a right of passage here hahah.

Might give it a go to see if it will fix my issue :) With what size rag did you clean it with  :silent:

Give it a go, the connection on the wires were a bit dusty and the actuator itself was dusty as *fudge* ahha. I used a micro fiber cloth it was the only thing small enough really :?

CE 2001 lancer- manual windows/mirror/locks to auto conversion has been done.... could someone please let me know how to get the central locking working, I have done wire loom in both of my doors, power windows (installed relay) and mirrors work perfectly. but the central locking is not responding (I am sure that it is a simple fuse, or relay, would appreciate a push in the right direction) Thank you in advance.
