central locking issues CE 2000 lancer

well my bf tried installing central locking today. it worked i guess you could say, but it didnt unlock or lock my doors
everything is responding and the actuators moved but they didnt move enough to actually unlock the door.
weve connected a vdo central locking kit to the factory actuators that were already in the car.
any ideas what could be going wrong?

Could be the factory actuators are cactus. Mine died last year, replaced them & all is working again.

are the clamp on the locking bar sliping at all.

the clamp is fine,
ozz, you could be right, i might go buy some actuators when i get paid

better to replace the actuators heard they normally play up when installing electrics
