Hi does anyone know a cheaper way of getting a catback exhaust system installed in my car or how i know what parts i need if i were to do it myself?? Thanks

Do you know what a cat back is??
I'm asking because unless you have a pipe bender, welder, grinder/cutoff wheel. You won't be able to do it yourself, and you will need to get an exhaust shop to do it, which is the opposite of what you said you wanted in chat.

go to exhaust shop, get them to cut off the old rear muffler and put on the largest cannon possible. driveway smug as fug while people lol with bleeding ears

hey man if you cant afford to pay an exhaust shop to do the job then dont get a catback, installing a catback is not a simple handymans jobs theres many pieces of equipment that you need, im assuming you want a catback to change the sound of your exhaust, all you really need is to just change your muffler thats

Ill go against that theory.
A cat back exhaust will give you gains even without better flowing headers, or a higher flowing cat.
Whether the car is turbo or n/a it makes no difference.
If part of the exhaust is a restriction and you reduce that back pressure then that is a good thing.
Back pressure is a bad thing.
Exhaust gas velocity is a good thing.
But of course upgrading the factory headers will gain more torque/power than a cat back exhaust on an n/a car.
Whether it is a 4cyl or a v8 majority of gains are seen in the better flow header.
On a 4g15 or 4g93 If Im being not overly optimistsic and say you will give yo a 2-3kw again I can say for the most part that from the midrange rpm right to redline you will see improvements in torque will translates to power gain.
If you want to seen gains in performance you have to live outside that little bubble where the mentality is that if you gain 2kw on the dyno its not worth doing.
Well it is not just 2kw at 6500rpm that you make gains.
You will make more area under the torque/power curve and that translate to better performance.
End of story.

Getting an exhaust like that would barely give you any performance gains at all, unless you get a tune so your ecu can actually make the most of what you've done.
Do lots of performance mods then get a tune.
And yea read around. There's a HEAP of threads and info on stuff like this, it doesn't need to be asked more than once!

Search exhaust or something and read what comes up. Look in peoples ride threads. Search different things. Search on google about exhausts and what they are. Search on youtube and see what people have and what sound they make. Theres even a thread on here with people on the forum posting a vid of what they have and what it sounds like.
