just buy a new one ozz there only like $50 i bought a new one when i changed extractors because the exhaust guy said not to clean them as they stuff up

I burrowed one off Luie about 6 months ago and he said 80 if I wanted to buy it, But ended up not needing it. So I dunno where you got 176 from?

Only an idiot buys stuff from Repco at their retail prices

Unless you're getting trade or staff pricing Repco are a joke...

WD-40 fixes everything haha :p

on a serious note:

To clean the delicate MAF sensor components, a specific MAF or Electronics Cleaner should be used, not carburetor or brake cleaner. These are alcohol or CFC-based solvents, rather than the harsh petroleum distillates used in the other cleaners... The sensors should be gently sprayed from a careful distance to avoid physically damaging them. Manufacturers claim that a simple but extremely reliable test to ensure correct functionality is to tap the unit with the back of a screwdriver while the car is running, and if this causes any changes in the output frequency then the unit should be discarded and an OEM replacement installed.

or for O2 sensors:

Determining ways to clean oxygen sensor raises a basic question: Will the cleaned oxygen sensor be any good to work properly? Since the oxygen sensor is exposed to high heat in the exhaust system to the car, the main contaminant likely to be present is a thick layer of baked carbon on the sensor tip, which doesn't dissolve easily in any solvents. So one way to clean O2 sensor with this carbon deposit is to heat the oxygen sensor tip with a blow torch (like propane). Expose the sensor tip to the torch till it's about to turn red, then dip the sensor tip quickly into water followed by cleaning the tip by blowing compressed air. This will make the carbon deposit to break free. We recommend repeating the procedure a few times until the carbon deposits are removed from the sensor tip.

Another way to clean the oxygen sensor is by using CRC brand QD electronic cleaner to remove fuel and oil contaminants. It's a special cleaner and doesn't leave any residue on drying. Keep a safe distance between the sensor and cleaner nozzle when spraying the cleaner on the sensor and wear gloves and safety goggles to prevent the cleaner from affecting your hand and eyes.

wered you pull that load of crap from mate??? o2 sensor's are a voltage generator within very small voltages. you can not clean them at all, they are very easly damaged.

maf sensors can be cleaned as you said, its also very good practice to clean it out when changing your air filter.

its amazing what google can do lol ...and ur right o2 sensors are voltage driven....and the instructions clearly say CAREFUL in regards to spraying them

From memory they are under 1V at peak output....so yeah they are bound to be pretty fragile/delicate

google is good but i wouldnt do anything with out talken to a licenced mechanic, aka me in 8 months lol
