Brake Master Cylinder question

I pulled off a proton wira BMC off a wreck hoping to get the proper BMC for bigger front brakes and rear disks. when i took a look at the size, it was 7/8. Isn't the ones in our lancer 7/8?
(this is the same wira i pulled the rear disks off)

would that mean that retaining the 7/8 would be okay and it would probably feel like the wira's braking?

Yeah it does brake fine with the 7/8 but you get a little bit more pedal feel with a larger master cylinder. I think a 15/16 off of a ce gsr would be fine also, or some other mitsubishi with a 15/16 that will fit. Or you can just go a 1 inch if it's easier to find. we're talking 1/16th of an inch so not a large difference really

You can get one from the CE wagon, they are 22.23mm. Or you can hunt for CC gsr or Evo master cylinders.

I'm going to try to fit a Magna booster to a lancer my next wreckers run.

EDIT: I though lancers were 13/16th.

the guy selling me his BMC is 100% sure it's a gsr BMC but it's only 13/16. but i should be looking for a 15/16, it's all weird..

id say the guys who did the casting of the master cylinders (mitsubishi) would know more about what size it was that the guy selling it.

if it says 13/16ths dont bother, look bigger.

yeah, it's just really weird how sure he was that it was a gsr one. might just go to the wreckers to find a 15/16.

most magnas are 15/16th, and i think the ABS V6 ones are 1inch. However the BMC mount holes are offset, so they only fit magna boosters. But after having a look today, i reckon a magna booster will bolt in to lancer.

or you can buy 1inch BMCs on ebay for about $120 reconditiond

Either or will do the job well. It's 1/16 of an inch difference, not really that much.

If it helps anyone, standard CE Mirage (disc/drum) BMC is a NABCO 7/8. Standard Proton Satria GTI (disc/disc) is also 7/8 just branded "Proton".

RPW sells 1" BMC cheaper than their website price, contact them direct.$180 inc postage.
