guys, i have the stock MR extractor / header manifold set but would like to go for a correct extractor set up , doesn,t have to be stainless stuff just a good 4 into 1 unit with all 4 x pipes the same lengths [ as they should be ] forget the other exhaust system i have , just want some nice extractors at a naturally good price, thats why i mentioned a non stainless set as the goos old steel will do my job . thanks.

go hens, best value for money, they are mild steel 4-2-1 format

there are however very cheap stainless steel extractors on ebay US for the 93, cant comment on quality tho as no one has got a set yet, they look okay
$180ish landed from US

yes res only thing that would hold most back is quality no one knows it and high chance of damage happening on shipping to australia

yes i must say this sized item coming along way would have to be packed up pretty darn well, i have purchased stuff from the states before and have to say there shipping can be very expensive compared to the product bought. so if you look at these extractors available from usa for 180 shipped, how much are the extractors worth as i am sure the shipping would have to be atleast 80 to $100 for this sized item in package. thanks and will check it out but would prefere to buy local australian .

TopGunJames has a set of those eBay, "N*Power" extractors, from my look at them, they seem pretty good, standard 4-2-1 design.

is that the aussie ebay site or the usa site ?

Ive been considering getting those ones, they seem really good value but usually cheap = nasty so if anyone can confirm they do their job well I might grab them.

Bit concerned that if I get headers I'll need to get my zaust done again coz my catback is only 2" - will this limit performance? Considering I wont be going more extreme than headers and maybe a CAI sometime in the future Im hoping 2" will be enough...?

They are 2inch, so will be same size as you cat back, will it limit performance?? hard to say, the question is will getting them help performance?? Id take a stab at yes.

Yeah. I reckon I might order headers soon then. Need to tyre up the 17s I have waiting to be put on then headers it is :D

guys who have purchased these ebay $149 extractors ? are they a direct fit to the standard pipe ? if so i would grab a set and fit them myself then later on the rest of pipe to muffler will be replaced.

yeh should do man, most extractors that include the flex pipe are bolt ons
you can however buy extractors without it with just the primary runners and front pipe, that u weld onto where u want

these ones are the bolt on sort

thanks for that Res, as you know fitting pipes is one of the worst jobs to do unless you have a hoist and good oxy gear on hand . so as long as i can just undo and remove the existing MR set up as far as the new extractor pipe goes to flange and just re bolt up , that will be great.

yep, mine fit perfectly, you could install yourself if your patient, otherwise get a helper so they can hold part of the piping when your bolting up, thats what took the longest for me since i done it alone

Yep they came with everything need for install including nuts and bolts, HOWEVER the bolts given to connect the flex pipe to the extractors weren't long enough to pass through with the gasket in place, so i had to buy longer high tensile bolts, no big deal, then everything was sweet. So if your buying these extractors go buy some longer high tensile bolts that match the diameter of the ones supplied

Were the gains noticeable james? Would you recommend them?

Im currently tossing up between 4-1 and 4-2-1 but 4-1s are proving hard to find on ebay.

The only difference is the tacho needle moved a bit quicker from about 3k rpm so my torque was likely to have increased. You wont notice a good difference unless you have supporting mods such as a cold air intake and even cat back.
I dont think you'd notice a difference between 4-2-1 extractors and 4-1 unless you've done some serious engine modifications, besides 4-2-1 extractors give better low end torque which is what you need for the street, where as 4-1 are more suited if your constantly above 5k rpm

In terms of recommending them, i haven't tried out other extractors so i cant compare, but like i said, these look great, fit great, do their job, but their downside is the metallic rattle that comes between 2-2.5k rpm, but this sound doesn't happen when you floor it say from a stand still, only when your cruising at 2k rpm then decide to put your foot down whilst in a high gear, i hope this makes sense
