Anyone with Electric Mirrors???

Hey got a question for anyone with electric mirrors on a CE.
Does anybody know if the wires for the mirrors go to a plug in the door? or to a plug under the dash?

I have manual mirrors on my car and was looking at putting electric mirrors on instead.
I pulled the door trim off and there were no plugs only wires going into the door was for the speaker.
There is a plug behind one the the plates to the right of the steering column I'm thinking this is for the electric mirrors switch.... not sure though?

Any help appreciated.

I've been asking alot of questions so if any of you need any PC help let me know so I can give something back.

There's a cable that runs into the door loom and into the door. It runs up inside the door at the top of the trim to plug the electric motor in. What are u trying to do?
 
God damn that was fast.

I got manual mirrors and want to put electric mirrors on if possible (fingers crossed).
I pulled off the door trim and there was only the speaker cable running into the door.
Probly to much trouble than its worth to put electrics mirrors in if the cables aint already there.
 
ok me and a mate did this ( god i love repeating it :lol )

we got the doors from an MR which include the power windows and mirrors

we both sussed out the plugs on each car and the GLI ( i think is what you have, the manual mirrors ) is missing a few cables, we hooked them up anyway yet still didnt work. so her actually took the WHOLE interior loom ( the full interior wires ) out of the MR and put it into the GLI for everything too work. yes it all worked but the car did NOT start. you will need the interior loom from an MR if you wish too do this, allot of work, took me and devi8 a while too get everything going

and yes the car is NOW working :lol: the problem with swapping the cables over is the computer, it resets the computers knowledge of the ignition barrel ( too fix this you will need too leave the keys in the ignition barrel and leave them in for a good 2+ hours on ACC )

Hey thanks dude.
I knew someone out there would have at least had the same thought.
Now all I have to figure out is if I could be bothered to do it.
