interesting read there lol. im kinda understanding a bit better. i knew kenwood and clarion are really crap. its just what was in when i purchased the car. I also hate my headunit lol. I want to go Alpine. It seems to go alright. And i think id much rather ask on here for help rather than go to a shop where they will just talk bullsh** and sell me somthing i dont need. lol.

At the moment im only looking at getting the type r splits for front and type r 6x9 for rear as thats all i can affort at the moment. and will eventually get a decent amplifier to run them.
Thanks everyone for ur help =]
Will let ya's all know what i end up getting etc..

The guys on this site will help you with any type of car audio available on the market.

Unlike most the guys on here will only back the brands they have owned.

As for the best in the business and most knowledge of car audio, I wouldnt go anywhere else but Cartunez and speak with Brad Taylor.

He has over 15 years being involved with car audio, and made the best car audio install I have seen in awhile in his red mitsu colt.

Actually, let's end this by saying; CHOICES ARE PERSONAL. If you think one brand is crappola, good for you.. Unless you HAVE owned them, try not to comment on your five minutes of experience with it, viewing it in a store...

I am certainly open to many choices and wont ever only just back 'the brand I own'.....

Just for the record, in 25 years of driving = I have owned; Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine, Sony, Polk, Marantz, JBL, Boston Accoustics, Hertz, Bang & Olufsen and Blaupunkt. I am sure there are some crap brands in there. But you all know best!

But get over yourselves saying 'Kenwood' is crap (does this mean their entire range of stuff?). What about the DDX-8034BT 7" DVD, TV, GPS headunit that I have, is it crap??? Because it certainly was the best on the day, from the 10 or 12 choices I had, which included some of the gear you have been mentioning. This is exactly why I mix/matched my gear... I bought what was pleasant to me (MY CHOICE).

For me, having some kid telling me my $4500 stereo is garbage and not be able to back it up with his own comp-winning stereo to show me or prove how much more superior it is, meh!

at the end of the day it will always come down to personal choices
