Aftermarket Keys

Hi guys,

Does anyone know if there are any keys which look a bit more special for our cars?
Maybe some newer model Mitsubishi keys can be used?

Sort of like how Type R Honda cars or Nissan GT-R have special keys:

personally i really like black top key and the tri diamond centeral locking key ring
also the Nissan 300zx also has a cool titanium key that fetches around 700$$ uncut

if you want a different looking key you can buy a flickout style cover thing cut the plastic off your original key and they pretty much screw together i have one for the evo it also has the central locking buttons on it. Have just realized my missus took the evos key to work so i cant take a picture of it but i recon that's pretty cool,

i thhink the key needs to have a chip in it to start the car?
because i have a key thats been cut and it doesnt have the black bit its just the normal silver end (like on a house key) which i have on a hook up under my car, and it doesnt start my car it can only let me in and use the accessories.

don't think the ce have them I have taken my keys into the ocean when I go snorkeling without the central locking on it and I have never had a problem

if you rip out the imobilliser, then i think in theory it should work with a cut standard key?

The standard keys have the transponder for the immobilizer. Anyway I no longer have this after the engine conversion so it's not an issue.

Fatkid, does that remote work? And is it part of an alarm system or is it a universal remote that you programmed?

it came with the car when i bought it, but yes it works and its apart of the central locking alarm system

... Couldn't you just buy a brand new evo key... and have your ECU programmed to that immbolizer in the key? They have to do that anyway if you key's are lost or broken.....
