5 stud conversion

I have an '06 CH ES but the stock 4 stud hubs really limit the choice of rims and bigger brakes. Has anyone done a 5 stud conversion on a CH? What's involved and where did you source the hubs from. Do VRX have 5 stud? Also a rough cost would be good.

Any help would be much appreciated.

vrx have 5 stud, theres a few guys on here in the process of converting/going to convert. they should be able to help you out.

im just about to do a 5 stud conversion. cost me 300 for hubs and rotors, but still need 5 stud wheels. so estimated 400 bucks approx

Hi I have converted my 2006 CH to 5 stud, pretty simple actually, machined 4x new stud holes (utilised one original hole) in existing hubs and bought some secondhand 5 stud rotors (armrest/console and carbon dash inserts too, lol) off a VRX wreck

There were some changes with Mitsubishi changing wheel bearing sizes and drive shaft lengths between models in the CH series so I keep all mine original to avoid any surprises.

I then fitted my 2010 Ralliart 18x7" factory wheels to the CH.

warning:
Be prepared to buy 4x new wheel studs (Mitsu do not miss you with pricing), and new wheel nuts, lol.

Cheers,

M.

got a picture?

Hi, says they are in my original post, the trick is making a 5 stud wheel fit on a 4 stub hub, lol.

hmmm. did you weld up the old holes in the hub or consult any engineering authorities about the strengths of the hub. considering the change of pcd, 2 of the new 5x114.3 holes should be rather close to the exsisting 4x114.3 holes. this slightly concerns me. it would be ok to do on brake discs. id have second thoughts about drilling the holes into the hubs

IIRC its illegal to re-drill hubs.

its also illegal to tint your taililights.

If you weld up the holes, re face it on a lathe, then paint it, no1 will no any difference, except that they other hubs arent painted.
