Just replaced the timing belt tensioner/idler and water pump, now there is a whining/whistle sound, I've removed all drive belts and the noise is still there, does anyone know what this would be??
You should only have the tension from the tensioner against the belt, also you want to take the slack out of the other side of the belt and only have slack on the tensioner side before allowing the tensioner to tension the belt.
i loosened tensioner off and wound motor over then tightened it up noise almost disappeared but upon in spection when reving and backing off the timing belt like had a "flick" when i let go of accelerator and motor slowed down the belt lost all tension and didnt look right. any ideas?
