Hey all,

Anyone know the rough cost of getting me 4g93 ecu reflashed as i have just complete a 4g94 conversion??

cheers

uncle_paulie knows a guy who does them

other than that there is always the option to diy flash it if you have a flashable ecu
get the right cable to edit the maps, and a wideband AF gauge
i believe there is a tutorial on MPF for it

Yarp, I know a guy (named steve) who does tuning. So far he's still playing with tables and codes for the 4g93 ecu's. Might be better off using a later 94 ecu. Not sure. I'll call him and ask. Matty might know too.

Until I get the all clear, assume steve hasn't got it figured out 100%. vr4's, evo's and magnas are covered lol

ok gents, after talks with steve, we need some pics.

if everyone can get photos of the following, it will be easy for us to determine what and how these ecu's can be flashed.

any and every model. 1.8L, 2.0L, gli, mr etc.

why every possible model? just to check. vr4's for example have about 6 different ecu's throughout the model run.

we need pics of the following (please):

whole ecu
connectors
the board (remove the outer case)
close up of the two black processors

oh and if someone can tell me, is there a little white cable connection next to the OBD ports on the lancers?

If your talking about the B70 plug. I believe it is on all CEs made 1998+

A friend of mine in PR has been flashing Lancer/Mirage and many others for some time and has been very successful in removing the immobiliser as well - from what he tells me the Mirage/Lancer ECU that have the black plastic cover are the best ones to reflash.

the ECUs from an automatic gearbox which were introduced after 2000 as a all in one ecu are not possible to do.

Depending on how easily and cheaply you want to go if you happen to have a spare ECU lying around that fits this criteria of pre 2000 manual and black plastic you could have a chat with him and send him the ecu with mods list and paypal some $$ and see if he can reflash it for you... he is a really cool guy to talk to and his work is awesome he has tuned (reflashed) cars doing quarter mile times of 12 seconds lancer NA...

Thats sounds really interesting chowtime, whats involved in a reflash? Do u consume alot more fuel? Rev better? How much would he expect in the way of $$$ and how much down time would there be? Not taking into account shipping. And can he do > 2000 manual 1.8's?

yeah not sure how much he would be after as for down time find yourself another ECU so it can be sent off he will just disable the immobiliser so that it will plug and play. If you give details as to what mods you have got he will be able to find a similar if not the same mods as a base map and load that up as for extra power etc depends on your current mods... when I sent mine over it took just over a month I think nearly 6 weeks (14 days there - 14 day return trip)

I will contact him and see what he has to say. he speaks English... you can usually find him on Mirage performance forums

I have a 03 black plastic 4g93 manual ecu lying around if anyone wants to buy it, either to get it reflashed or as a replacement for downtime

if steve gets the 4g93 stuff underway, then air/fuel/timing will be optimized for the mods to make power. you can say how aggressive you want the tune.

also, cause all the table are scalable and editable, you can use a bigger cam and bigger injectors without the need for a aftermarket ecu.

not to mention cool things like switchable maps, valet mode, launch control, overrun, no lift to shift etc

edit: forgot the f in shift and then the swear filter went skitz

Not to mention MAF swapping!!! :-D

if you are using a 4g94 with 4g93 ecu the least you must do to ensure the engine will no lean out is run the 240cc injectors.
